No that's cool, if I do one I'm planning on doing the 4-week course and am wanting to do it in Prague since my g/f lives there
CELTA course? The one I was looking at was a Trinity one, which according the company I was most impressed by (Oxford TEFL), is at the same level as the CELTA as both are monitored externally. There is Cambridge CELTA and Trinity TESOL which they confidently (and convincingly) claim are at the same level.
Anywho, it's about a year away lol! But good to know someone else has done something similar and enjoyed it
On the comma discussion, I wouldn't put a comma in - I don't think it does represent how you'd say it - "No matter, though" .....I'd say it "No matter though", with no pause
Ah that's the other one I couldn't remember the name of! Yeah CELTA and Trinity are the two best ones. The 4 week courses are very intense though so keep that in mind!

You can be proud that you've helped someone Paddy!
I didn't know about the CELTA and looking into it it I've found a better place to learn in Prague and do the CELTA rather than the Trinity TESOL - they're pretty much the same but CELTA has more options afterwards (i.e. CELTYP - Cert. in Eng Lang Teaching to Young People), TESOL has that option too but few places do it, whilst the place in Prague which does CELTA also does CELTYP which I'd be interested in.
I've contacted them for more info! Things have been looking up for me in the past few days....the camp I worked on at Summer is meant to be running again so I may get a job there next summer, lots of random things which help my dissertation have popped up, I've nearly done one of my essays I wanted done over the vacation, and plans for after next summer (i.e. CELTA) looking good! Yay
I better start practising getting out of bed before midday pretty soon
I did that today - quite nicely managed to get up at 10am even after not getting to sleep until around 3am last night! And for the past 2 weeks I haven't been out of bed before midday (except Christmas when I got up at 10.30am!)
But I have essays essays and more essays to do.....so I have to force myself to get up!
Anyway....I don't think people realise that there are still another TWO FULL WEEKS of the holidays left....trust me they'll drag!
I just got an email about an IOP bursary. £1000 a year! I'm getting it! Sweet or what?
Nice one! Well done. I feel I should counter that by neg repping you, but that would make me a bad person. So I won't.
Last night I went to bed gone 3 and got up at 9am this morning. Sucky. I can't believe I used to get up before 7 for school. Nowadays 8:30 seems ludicrously early!

Good for you! I don't think teaching will be on the cards for me very soon. Sure the course was great, but it made me realise that teaching is scary

Well since Sixth Form I've... -taught PE to Year 7 at my high school -taught camping skills to kids in America for summer 2004 -taught higher education/revision skills to kids in Durham summer 2005 -taught lots of outdoor activities to kids in the Lake District summer 2006
Hopefully should be doing that last one again summer 2007 lol
So have a bit of teaching experience under my belt, it's so much fun!
Jelkin - yeah I can't believe it either! Back in high school I used to get up at 6.45am every morning to go and do my paper round to be back in time to get ready for school!! 6.45am!!!!! bloody hell!
Though in Durham I get up at 6.30am three mornings a week for rowing, grrr
I couldn't believe it this morning. I went to bed at gone 3 last night...woke up at 8!
EIGHT??!!!!!!!!!
Had a semi-productive day for once though.
I was going to take up rowing but didn't want to get out of bed so early(sooo lazy)!
And Pro-Plus...has caffeine doesn't it?I can't really have much caffeine,it has a bad effect on me
Worse today - up at 11, eek, it's getting later!!!
You can still row without getting up early - just get a crew together of people who don't want to row early, preferably art/social science students who can get out through the day. Otherwise do Weds afternoons/weekends/early evenings
(However, some college boat clubs don't like these crews AT ALL as they're not competitive and so won't really support you....not mentioning which ones though! )
