No no no! London would be massively more expensive than Durham when you include tube costs, etc. Also, most London unis don't guarantee accomodation. I know a guy at Goldsmith's living out in London - he said, "it's fine so long as you don't leave your house, EVER." [Even though people at London unis get higher loans.] Think about how expensive nights out in London would be - Durham is cheap as chips and we have all these student bars!

HOWEVER, Durham is very expensive compared to most non-London unis.
If you had £100 to waste as you please, you couldn't buy anything sensible with it, or keep it, or invest it, what would you do with it? In a sort of Brewster's Millions kind of way but with £100. I need inspiration.
Stick it on Boro:biggrin:

Lol! I'll be sure to send you one from Buenos Aires:wink:

¿Quieres una? Espero enviar muchas:biggrin:

What do you mean by "sensible"? Hmmm. I'd probably just squander it on drinking/eating/stationary (I love buying pens). Or clothes. Or some lovely jewellery. Or...no, I can't really think of anything right now. Maybe I'd buy a load of SNES games. I don't have enough.

Speaking of pens... Anyone else get carried away buying paper and pens and sometimes really want an intray and filing cabinet... Noticeboard, new desk and all that.

I have a horrible fantasy of being an important officetype and having an intray and whatnot.. Id wear squarish frames, slightly thicker than normal at the top to create that 'hes and executive' look. And Id wear a crisp suit and a dashing smile.

The world would be at my feet, along with some beautiful shoes - shiny enough that my admirers might lose themselves for a moment if they would dare to dream that dream of being.. the executive.

Pollen! How is the worlds favourite pollen counter? Looking forward to going to Skye/Lakes for the sole purpose of counting pollen?
Yeah, it's going well. I got good grades this term and am doing such fun courses as Transportation Systems methods and analysis, environmental hazards and independent study.

Jim was good, what a legend. I'm enjoying the modules this year, I'm doing Glaciation, Quaternary Studies, Development, Society and the Envoronment and the core 2, so nice physical/human mix for me.

I'm going on the Lakes trip unfortunately due to other commitments; my Mountain Leader training, but I'm sort of looking forward to it, it is long though.
Glaciation trip on Friday, wooo!!!

I love stationary. I waste so much money on pens, then I destroy them by chewing too violently. And I would love to be an officey type. But I'd have those clacky shoes that are really annoying. I secretly love them.

And Tufts, I thought everyone was looking forward to going back? I received 2 doses of terrible news last night. That, coupled with my mum's telling me that I need to buy smarter clothes ("it's okay, baggy trousers are meant to be in this year!" - I DON'T CARE) and, "You really should try to lose some weight," and I'm very very ready to go back. It's a shame, as I always used to love living at home.
