But go into Dixons or somewhere and ask to have a look at one. They're so little you just have to have one. You can pretend you're a giant with a normal iPod
lol well if I had my 200 quids back, I'd never buy an ipod... but I couldn't get all my music on a little 4 gig thing

You've actually got enough music to fill a 40gig?
no I've got about 12 gig now, but I'm still adding to it (thanks to my bf's CDs)

I had about 23 gig... until my external hd decided to crash... now I have about 7 gig. Bloody electrical software
Honestly, that would have had me in tears... The problem with having a big music collection of course is that my hard drive is only 40 gig and half of it's taken up with music... and then I've got loads of sheet music in pdf format stored on it too... so it's a wee bit slower than it was brand new

I wasn't in tears but I think I sulked for a week  I'm surprised your computer doesn't spontaneously burst into song or something if thats how much music its got on it, I've mostly shifted all my stuff onto external now (after fixing the bloody problem, that is)
I wouldn't trust the external EVER again lol.. I've asked for a new hard drive for Christmas lol  anything over 200 gig does fine

Did you actually work out what the problem was?

Yeh, it was something to do with the wire and it not connecting right... got a computer-savvy friend to sort it
Ah well at least it's sorted  how big is it? (memory wise)

Its 150gig, but I might steal my dad's 250 for uni, just because my parents are in a generous mood what with my leaving and all... one should always push one's luck, I've always thought
Yeh luck pushing just before you go is the best time!!!

I got a refurbished 30gig iPod a few months back for £165. Came with the docking station too. Nice. Currently have 14gb of choooooons on it.
I have a 6 gig "wonder box" and it's well ace. Small enough to go running with, and a weeks worth of audio books or music.

So what if i occasionally have to shuffle a few songs about. I havent really got 6 gigs of excellent songs.
Yeah I think I'll delete a lot of music off my iPod because when I put shuffle on I'm always skipping songs that I don't actually like that much....
I just went for my haircut and was met with a dilemma. "You can have you hair cut for free if you agree to our trainee doing it". 'Hmmm......' I thought. It's only a fiver, but I am now a fully fledged (almost) student, so anything is a bonus. On the other hand, do I really want to risk having a monstrosity on my head less than a week before I meet 1000s of new people who I'll be living with for three years?

I went for the trainee, and I must say, I'm disappointed. There's no gaping holes and my ears are still intact but you can tell it's just not the same class of cut as it would otherwise been. Oh well. It was free.

you cant argue with a free haricut - i go one step futher than trainees and cut my own!
