Which reminds me .........

Last week, I was roundly berated as a ‘stalker’ on these pages. This was after I spotted someone’s name (it is still up there a few pages back; why doesn’t someone edit it out?), looked up their results and congratulated them on passing. Hmmff. As I said in a PM, this is the World Wide Web, not someone’s private diary. As I write, there are thirteen ‘guests’ looking in at the Durham site and it is sometimes many more.

And why not? As well as being highly informative and helpful, the site is just full of witty and entertaining insights. Why waste it? I am completely hooked and have no plans to drop it at all.

In fact, by way acknowledgement, I would like to make some nominations. For spontaneity and vividity, I nominate goldenbarnes’s double ELO post from early summer as the best ever. Wonderful. Close second is RobbieC’s birthday announcement. Brilliant. I put it on daughter’s birthday card, and she loved it; I told her it was the special Durham birthday greeting.

I wanted to congratulate Tufts on passing her eleven-thousandth post since Xmas, but worry about frightening the horses again.

[Will this post will bring down another big pile of grief on me? What the hell. Live with it.]

I see. Just thought id point out that those guests are largely web bots, so nice try, but im sure you knew that. Whats really going on, and more to the point who/ what are you. Less BS please...

It doesn't, but I can confirm that upon graduation you get...well nothing.

However about 4 weeks later in the post you get....

1 (crap) certificate which looks like it was made in Microsoft Word, by someone who can't use Microsoft Word - seriously it's bad (but apparantly being re-designed for next year, grrr)

1 transcript - this is the important thing really, and yes, it has the name of every module you've taken (split into year by year) and the PERCENTAGE you got for that module (so not even just "2:1" "2:2" or whatever, full on "Module 1 = 55%, Module 2 = 68%, etc"

Ah well :rolleyes:

I can verify that the certificate for this year is crap. It's so plain!
Dobbs did you order a graduation photo and if so has it arrived yet? Mine hasn't and it's been 3 months now :frown:
