Maybe if Becca was a lesbian she would be attracted to Denise Richards?

(Ahh that's a bit of a blast from the past!)

I have just written a rant about the X-Factor!

Please be reading it

I agree with your rant 100% apart from the fact you include Strictly Come Dancing in the same category. I explain my feelings further in the actual thread.
Why didn't I realise that buying so many books in the first and second years would mean that I ended up with a library?

I think I'm going to try and see if there are any eager freshers who would like to own some cheap course books when I finally get to Durham. (That'll be tomorrow, and Tuesday for college.)

 I didn't know you were doing the Great North Run!!

I also did it today, and am in a surprisingly small amount of pain compared to the last time I did it! Though the blisters on my feet beg to differ....:frown:

But the good news is that I blasted my last time by 7 minutes with a time of 1 hour, 39 minutes and 39 seconds!!!! Am incredibly happy!

If anyone fancies sponsoring me (hehe) head over to www.justgiving.com/kevin-dobson - I ran for Traidcraft
That's a really awesome time!
I want to do the GNR at some point in the future. Although I'm concentrating on my 5km times at the mo...i don't think I'm ready for a half marathon yet....

Well done Kevin very good time (1hr40 was my target), but I finished about 10 mins after you, 1hr 50, I'm in a considerable amount of pain now, my achilles are a nightmare and the kness are just bleurgh. Next year I'm moving up a group or two to give myself a better chance of getting a good time...

What zone did you start in? They put me in Zone B! I was quite scared being put right after the Elite Athletes! But I made sure I was a little way back in that Zone. It was a nightmare trying to get through a lot of the runners at the start though - even in Zone B! I guess there were about 3,000 runners in front of me still though.

My knees are the worst at the moment - check your rucksack thingy you have some joint cream. Actually you have 2 sachets - each a different brand, so I put one on one knee and one on the other to see which one is better. So far my left knee is feeling much much better, which was the one called "Jointace"
I wish I'd been in Zone B or C, I would have made 1hr40 then I reckon...I was in G, simply because when I signed up I was being pessemistic and put down 2hrs. Yeah, I used all that joint cream up about 10 mins after finishing :p:, beginning to wish I hadn't, though I've got some "Deep Heat" which I might use.

Was it just me, or did the tenth mile seem to go on foreeever?

G? That's crazy - my friend who was also running put down 2hrs as her estimated time and she ended up in Zone E! Oh well, not much you can do I guess!

10th mile? Hmmm where was that...oh yeah no that wasn't too bad for me. It was kinda between 7 - 9 miles that killed me because I got the biggest stitch I'd ever had in my life. Was lucky because just before 9 miles there were some portaloos so I had to jump into one and let it relax off whilst doing some business  ...that sorted me out quite good actually and set off again feeling much better

The best part is like the first 4 miles, they went so quick! It was insane! Then I started to get bored

Things I like:
-Red Arrows
-People giving out segments of oranges
-The finish line

Things I dislike:
-Charvers wanting everyone to give them a hi-five and screaming at you if you don't
-First Aid people putting HUGE chunks of vaseline on their hands so that if you don't want to stop and carefully take a small bit you have to take the whole chunk and figure out what to do with all the crap then deciding to just rub it around your hands, making the bottle of water that you then grab at a station slip OUT of your hands, grrr
-Being forced to do a warm up by some random dude in lycra, when he was actually behind me, and the screens were set up so that I couldn't see any of them!

Still, I loved it! Weather was awesome! Got a tan
What's the vaseline for?
