Iceland isn't really that much cheaper than Waitrose, I've found, unless you get the really horrible tat- they lure you in with their tackiness then charge as much as the nice supermarket!

If you are wise with what you buy than iceland is very cheap. If everyone boycotted waitrose then we would end up with a decent supermarket that charged fair prices...

It depends, Iceland is cheaper for some things (especially branded goods like Birdseye frozen peas, 8 kiwis for a pound, big box of mushrooms for a pound...), but your choice in there is pretty limited. Milk is super cheap too.

Ah good good, I didn't think I was going mad.

I've walked past Bobby Robson's house in Neville's Cross, or at least the one that my boyfriend thinks he lives in!!

Does anyone knows where roy keane lives? Love to see him!!

I only really buy snacks and drinks, which is what Iceland is very very cheap for. The only bother with the place is dragging all that shopping back, ordering online is a lot better.

Thing is, I wouldn't mind paying a little bit extra if they actually provided a decent quality of service. The ****ing lazy, unhelpful, miserable, rude staff they employ have been pissing me off for a while, yesterday was the final straw. I've ****ing had it with the place, I'm not giving those ***** any more of my money

All I can say is I am proud never to have given them any money, and dont intend to in the future. Tesco all the way!!!
The staff in my Waitrose at home are very helpful and well-spoken. It must depend on the particular store.

Even so, they are still a rip-off.

Exactly, and what would be more fun than pissing off precisely those type of people?

It's so true, and yet I was fooled in second year. I was in Waitrose today incidentally buying a bottle of whisky(a present) and Private Eye.

Meh. I still really like Waitrose and shall continue to shop there.
I like Waitrose's packaging.

However, my cupboards are still tightly packed with Tesco Value everything.

Also: Way-trose or Wait-rose?

that one, definately.

that one, definitely.

That's what I say but I've heard people using the other one. It sounds very awkward to me.
People with Northern accents seem to drop the 't'. I'd agree with you two.
