I hate housing decisions

Let's start a club.

What makes it so frustrating, is the way that it's so hard to form a committed group. Fingers crossed, we might have found 2 people to join up with, but they haven't got back to us for definite yet, probably because they're waiting for the results of their college accommodation ballot. If they say yes, then things will actually start moving because we can start arranging viewings of places and try to get signed soon (as well as convincing one of my potential housemates that we don't want to live way way out in Gilesgate just because it's £40 per week to do so).

Are you going to the thing tonight, maybe you might meet a few more committed people. Those two might end up living in college anyway.

I didnt know colleges ran the ballots at this time, in my college they dont really sort things before August.

I can't make it tonight for various long, complicated and annoying reasons. If these two girls commit, it'll be a brilliant group, so I'm hoping that they will..

I don't know about college accommodation ballots, I know that Aidan's is said to have quite a large excess of accommodation if that makes a difference. They announced who's got accommodation in Butler next year today, the two girls we're waiting for are in Castle though, and I can't imagine that many second years get accommodation there but I don't know when the results of said ballot are actually published.

Do you have your back covered if they dont join the group? I also have reason not to be there either, but I am going anyway.

Aidans is so empty that I have already got a place saved there if needs be. Although I would prefer to get a house there, otherwise I will end up effectively being a fresher again, but with second year level workload.

Well, there are 3-bed places available that the 3 of us who are definitely living together could go for, so that's my back-up plan. I just can't make it tonight, which is less than ideal, but it's the way the world works sometimes I guess. I decided not to put my name into the ballot for accommodation because I want to live out of college, and I don't really have much to gain by living in to be honest. I had a rant to my boyfriend last night, and he just told me to calm down, and that it'll all sort itself out in the end. I'm not so optimistic, but nevermind...

Nope, they don't want to/can't go either. I agree with living in, but the fact is that it isn't an option at this point so there's no point wondering what could have been.
