One person's announced that she wants to keep looking.

I think I might cry.

Well it is a good idea not to just jump on the first thing you see. The next hosue you view might be perfect.

I agree, but we've seen 5, and we've discounted a lot of what's still available on paper (some of them don't have showers, too expensive, too far into Gilesgate etc). We're going back to see the 2 we're considering tomorrow. I think part of this issue is the fact that somebody's going to have to put up with the smallest bedroom, and she can't seem to understand that we're extremely unlikely to find anywhere that has 4 good-sized rooms.
yeah, you always get one room that the landlord converted from a cupboard. I got that one in second year.

I did get the whole top floor in third year though

It might be worth sticking it out. I'm in a group of seven and we almost decided to sign on one house that had an absolutely tiny room just because we hadn't found anything better, but we decided not to and the next one we saw had double beds in each room so we went with that instead.

I guess it depends on how puny the room is. If everyone absolutely hates it then look on, or someone will be miserable for the next year.

I just got an email from the library saying that I haven't returned 2 short loan books that were due at 10am yesterday. Firstly, I'm almost 100% sure that I did (and the other two that I returned, one of which was for a flatmate, have apparently been returned), because I remember doing it and why on earth would I return only one of them when I knew I had to do 4, and secondly, if I have a fight with them about this I'm going to have a fine of about £100 to deal with. I'm at home right now, and I won't be back in Durham until tomorrow afternoon so I can't check to be sure that I did return them. I did it before the library opened, into that little returns box by the front door but I've obviously got no way of proving it. I tidied my room before I left yesterday, I just don't think the books are in there :s. I've emailed the library about it, but they've yet to reply and I'm a bit worried because I just can't afford that fine, and as a history student, I really need the library :s.

They could have just fallen to the back of the processing queue. Duo is being messed around with today, so I would expect there to be some problems with the unis IT system.
This has happened to a couple of my ex-housemates before now. Try not to worry too much about it, its probably some sort of glitch that they haven't fixed yet.

Glitch... they've just emailed me.

I feel a lot calmer now, I was getting slightly worried about finding the £100...
