Does anyone know what i could do for those few hours. i do want to have a good look around. Also how hard is it to get lost/find my college. (st marys) Also any ideas what i can do with my case.. i might look slightly strange lugging a big case around the town. also.. phone numbers for goood registered taxi company pleaseee!! x
EDIT: SORRY I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE ASK A CURRENT STUDENT THREAD!!
Umm, wrt to what to do when you get there, not toooo much to do,you could: pop into greggs and sit down and have a pasty and a wait.
Or you could phone Mary's and ask them if it would be okay to drop your suitcase off in the Plodge then walk back into town,
or they might have open day reps ready and waiting from about 10 either in Mary's in which case when you get there, they'll take care of you. (Again, phone up to find out) OR
They will have open day reps at the station, in which case everything will be taken care of. They certainly will later. -It might be worth seeing if you can get a slightly later train to catch the reps at the station.
It's not too easy to get lost in Durham because it's small, but here are some directions if they help:
Come out the station and go down the hill. When you get to some steps (they'll be on the left) go down them towards the roundabout. Go over the road by the roundabout towards the road that goes into the centre of town. Walk down that road past the bus station and keep following it, over a bridge. As you wal over the bridge, if you look up and slightly right you will see the castle. Keep following the road up the incline towards the centre of town. In the town square you will see a statue of a horse. In the centre of town take the street with the 2 greggs on (a HSBC is on the corner of said street), follow that road aaaaaaallll the way, up a hill, past "The Shakespeare" past VArsity past the cathedral. You'll end up getting to a barrier (Red and white) go through it and down the slope towards the bridge. Cross the bridge (prebends) up the slope on the other side. Walk through the white gate, then cross the road running towards the roundabout. Walk towards the roundabout and take the right turn up the hill. Cross the road and Walk up the hill, further up there will be a left bend, bear round to the left and walk about 50 meters, and you'll be at marys.
when do yah reckon the techy peeps will get their finger out their arse?
I have an important meeting with a lecturer tomorrow and I need to check email incase he bails.
... lol
Phone up ITS and ask them, my guess would be monday morning if we are lucky: 0191 204 8888 or 0800 694 4888 (obviously use the local if you have a mobile)
