But don't you have to read around the topic, read repetatively, etc for exam prep?
I prefer essays because even though they take more time, that's more time that I have to think about the issue, and then more time to check it over afterwards and make sure I haven't just written a load of nonsense. My brain is not quick enough for great exam essays.
Speaking of which, I now have a week's extension for the one I was stressing out about earlier. Unfortunately I did not discover this until I had written all but the conclusion. Figures.

Number 2 tends to happen with me to an extent, in fact in need to be scared in order to do some work. Number 1 never seems to happen, if I know too little then I have to put my mind to work finding ways around things. Most exams I have had to figure something or another on the spot, somehow pure jamminess has paid off for me...
