Hmm... as a person who played the violin as a small child... (I started at 3) It's a lot of fun.
On the other hand, listening to them learning is not so much fun.

Cellos are better. *smug nod* They sound nicer.

:five: I play cello! Mine's dying though...the front piece is coming away from the main body...:s-smilie:

'Cellos are amazing :five:
that's really sad :frown: broken instruments make me cry.
My bow is broken at the moment. It's (hopefully) being fixed at the moment, and I'll have my nice bow back for next term, rather than the crappy loaned bow I have at the moment.
(which reminds me, I must ask my mum to find out what's happening with it...)
yeah I haven't broken the news of the dying cello to my parents yet...:afraid:

I'm kinda pretending that it isn't happening in a *la la la not listening* kinda way. It was my 18th present and cost my parents lots of money so I feel bad, even though it's not my fault, it's just a fairly old instrument :frown:

Cant you fix it, or is totally kaputt
Yeah it can be fixed, but fixing = £££. Family has no £££.

Work?

I can't! Believe me, I wish I could but I obviously have exams now and then straight after graduation I'm starting my training for my job. Training finishes on 8th August and then I have a month to find somewhere to live, move in, get settled and maybe grab some time with my bf (who by August I won't have seen for 5 months...) before I start work at the beginning of September...you do the maths

Hmm :frown: well good luck Becca and I hope you find some way of getting your Cello fixed at some point. :hugs:

Becca, if your parents have household contents insurance then your 'cello *might* be covered if it breaks. It covered a repair on my 'cello a couple of years ago, although my parents have since taken out instrument insurance with Alliance, which is actually pretty reasonable and recently coughed up about a thousand pounds when one of my sister's 'cello literally snapped in half :s:.
Hmm, OK, I'm unsure. Actually, pretty sure my parents have separate insurance for it, I'll have to tell them. Meep.
