They told us at orientation the college only contacts the fire dept. once a fire is confirmed.. And the fire alarm hadnt gone off, to my knowledge!
This is not true, all college's have a system whereby if the alarm is triggered then the fire service is automatically alerted. They always send like 3 engines....I don't see why they don't just send one (or 2) and then IF the fire is confirmed then call for backup
However, maybe Collingwood doesn't care about their students and would rather look after their money

This is not true ,when our fire alarms go off(which is very often!), we dont get any fire engines
