Make sure you research the organisation so you have an idea what they do, especialy somthing as well known as the Environment Agency.

Be prepaired for some nasty personal questions, I was once asked "what was the lowest point of your life" stuff like that can be hard to answer.

Try to be confident and dress smartly. Also think of questions you might want to ask them.

To be honest though I am the last person on earth that should be giving this advice at the moment .

1. Research into the Agency- see what are the areas they work on
2. Research into your post- be clear of what exactly you are expected to do in it
3. Show some enthusiasm for the EA's work and make it evident that you are aware of that
4. They might ask tricky question- the key lies in answering those questions, without becoming flustered or losing your cool (whcih is exactly what they will be trying)
5. Have a CV, and other credentials ready with you... and if they make any reference to your education etc, you could tell them -'My....... has the information that you require. Would you like to see it, please?'
6. Remember, little words like - 'please' and 'thanks', and 'would you' etc
7. Dress comfortably... no point in dressing to kill and being uncomfortable

Other questions like why do you want to work for x company always come up, and things like where do you see yourself in 5/10/15 years etc.

The other sort of questions are kind of scenario based, like give an example of when you've worked in a team, or when you've over come a difficult problem. Its probably a good idea to have a think about these sort of questions so you have something vaguely relevant to say if they come up (my worst problem in interviews is not having something to say and waffling on about something completely irrelevant out of nerves)

Also make sure you answer the question.

At the end of the interview make sure you ask what happens next, when will you hear from them, is there a second interview stage etc.

You might not want to mention the uni thing, some places get a bit funny if they think you only see their job as a stop gap, they don't want to train you up so you can leave at the first opportunity!! Although this might be the case, you don't need to let them know that at this stage.
