Gained 7 pounds in 3 days!

Ok so i got back from amsterdam yesterday, smoked a lot of weed, drunk a lot of beer and ate a lot of good, but bad food... in other words had a great time lol.. weighed myself this morning.. was 182 pounds instead of the 175 i was when i left but my body fat percentage has gone lower and my muscle has increased 6 pounds... is it possible ive put on a load of muscle because ive been doing lots of training and havent eaten much (1200 calories daily) ?

and also because of the past 3 days ive been eating about 3000-3500 calories? or have i just put on a lot of fat in 3 days and my tanita bodyscan thingy is telling me lies?

Well, you need 3500 extra calories to gain one pound. So you must've been eating a lot to gain7 in 3 days!

It's probably water or something like that rather than "real" weight.
if you eat 3500 calories less can you lose a pound?

your body scan thing will be telling you fibs. Any weight you would have gained will be fat.

i thought muscle weighed more than fat, so could it be muscle?

If you have been doing lots of training while only intaking 1200 calories a day you are most likely getting fatter and losing muscle weight as you are falling into starvation.
Starvation also lowers your metabolism so you need less energy for the day, so I am guessing when you started your massive intake of beer and food it was more than your body could handle and so it stored it as fat. I would guess that during starvation mode your body only uses 2000 calories a day or less.
This is because if your body does not have enough protein to repair muscles then it ends up respring muscle tissue for protein.
Remember you need to eat more food when weight training, making sure a good amount of that food is high in protein. Another good tip is to eat a protein snack/ drink after your training session.

Next time you decide to do some weight training make sure you understand how the body works, I can only imagine the damage you have done to your body by only consuming 1200 calories a day while weight training.

bit of an unfounded remark to make l1ncs? i'm pretty built muscle wise and i've been doing a lot of training whilst effectively starving my muscles so they could have grown with this sudden in take of food.. plus is it possible to put on 7 straight pounds of fat in three days ? i dont think so...

Alcohol + bad food = a great deal of fat (beer bellies and so on)

Training while starving your muscles will make your muscles smaller. The body needs to do the repair process of muscle tissue within 24 hours of the weight training or probably less. It is possible to put on 7 pounds of fat in three days providing your body is in starvation mode, and it most likely isn't possible to put on 7 pounds of muscle in three days.

Also what makes you think your building muscle when your body has no protein to build it with??

well im trying to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time... and yes i know thats not really possible but over the last three months ive lost about 5 pounds of muscle and 20 pounds of fat so its an acceptable ratio for me, ive been doing 4 miles running a day, heavy weight training every other day and eating less calories but high protein... so i cant be doing too much wrong if im under 13 stone when i was 14.5 and my bench and curl etc have got stronger ?

There is no way you will put on 7 pounds of muscle in 3 days, i dont care how well built you are.

You need to find your base calorie, then deduct 500 calories from your base,to create a calorie deficit, cutting 500 calories a day is sensible, this means youll vut around 3500 a week, losing 1lb of fat each week, slow but more beneficial, up your protein, cut down on saturated/trans fats, up the good fats sch as efa's (google), keep carbs moderate, train hard, your doing cardio as well, all in all its good.

You dont want to create a large calorie defecit, having say 1200 calories a day is not good, as you'll be slowing down your metabolism, for cutting keep calories around 1800-2300, depends on your base calorie. Again google this.

I v much doubt it's "real" weight
Even if you absorbed everything in the food you ate, then I really doubt you'd have eaten half a stone of excess food...

maybe it's the yeast in the beer?

people naturally fluctuate in weight anyway. i fluctuate naturally up to half a stone, though that's probably a girl thing
I lost half a stone in 3 weeks. I wanted to look nicer when I went back to university. I spent 2 hours exercising and ate hardly any dinner, just fruit and a big pasta tea. I regret it because I felt like **** afterwards and crabby. Also, I lost loads more with out trying. I got anxious and it affected my mental health. Don't crash diet. I never looked anorexic or any where near, but the whole thing unbalanced me mentally.

i agree- alot of water/beer can easily put on 5 lbs, and also eating stuff like salty peanuts or pizza can make u retain more. this higher water % will show up as muscle as muscle is more conductive than fat,so lower fat %. there's no way you can put on that much muscle in 3 days, especially doing as you did.

I can tell you one thing, its definitely not muscle, sorry to disappoint, its likely to be mostly fat.

lol this really is a laughable comment, you clearly have no idea now your body works and how muscle is gained - if you think its not possible to gain 7 pounds of fat in three days how the hell do you think its possible to gain 7 pounds of muscle?

Honestly this comment is so stupid its laughable, I can't believe I'm trying to explain why its retarded..

What the ****ing hell have you been eating?!

Also, 7 lbs in 3 days is crazy! It would take at least 10 days-2 weeks to lose that minimum! [although gaining weight is easier than losing it]. But omfg.

Maybe you have water retention or something.

Omg.
