I don't think there is a particular style- I just wore a plain fitted- type shirt, and thats what most girls seemed to be wearing.

Thanks dancingqueen. Just wanted to check before I buy something I end up getting fined for wearing!

Just has to be collared (for tying the ribbon), white blouse, preferably full sleeves.

would it matter if it was 3/4 length sleeves? just i always feel uncomfortable with full length ones and end up rolling them up- wouldn't it look smarter to just have the shorter sleeves to start with?

Also, does it have to button right up to the top cos doesn't that look stupid on girls? i prefer v-necked shirts! Dya reckon it would be poss to tie the ribbon round a v-neck?

I really don't know what's permitted and what's not... I personally have 4 such blouses, 2 of them being full sleeves and 2 being 3/4th... and I wore only the 3/4th for my exams. The matric day was on the colder side, so I wore the full sleeves.
Looked at my matric photo now- nope, you needn't button right up to the top, and no one really cares how you tie the ribbon... you just need a ribbon there, that's all (unless of course, your college is very particular about it)

ditto - i played it completely safe for matric - cotton fitted plain button up to the neck white blouse. not that i wore it buttoned up to the neck - that would have looked silly.. :p:

but for exams i had 4 shirts - including a 3/4 sleeves & open/sailor type necked one; a ruffled victoriana type one (such a trendsetter.. ) & a linen more casual one.
but TBH, with 7 exams consecutive AM & PM day slots over 4 days - i don't think they were going to quibble too much if you didn't go out & buy loads of completely regulation shirts specifically for the purpose.

I went to varsityshop.co.uk and got one for, I think, £19/20 (I'd post the link, but it's not working at the moment!). I reckon there are probably cheaper ones out there, but it seemed a good compromise between worrying that the shirt wasn't regulation and my school shirts (which I will probably end up using anyway).
