So lately I've been trying to eat healthy with the hope of dropping a few pounds before my holiday next week. I don't really need to lose weight but I do need to improve my diet! My mum is joining me on this semi-diet and has brought home enough Ryvita to feed a small country, but we don't really know what to put on it apart from Philadelphia spread.

I am aware that Ryvita is as palatable as burnt cardboard, so toppings which will disguise its natural taste as well as being healthy would be ideal... any suggestions?

Ryvita is yummy! I usually eat it on its own to save calories. BUT I guess if you want to add something - cheese, tomatoes, peanut butter, houmous, that sort of thing?

In your profile you look fine! Do you really need to shed the weight ? Anyway, I like the mini Ryvita bites, you can buy various flavours. As a topping its all about Phili.

i put:

thin slices of cheese topped with cucumber
philedelphia cheese topped with cucumber
humous
cottage cheese
thin slice of salami

you can put any sandwich type of thing on it as long as it is in a small quantaty. And obviously you want to go for the healthy option of toppings =]

Houmous with salsa or peppers tastes pretty good .
I also put cheese on them sometimes, but then that sort of defeats the point of having the healthy ryvita .

Haha, no, I don't need to lose weight but like I said, dropping a few pounds for my hols would be nice.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'll have to get creative. The salsa option sounds nice.

Houmous (get a low fat version) and cucumber or tomato is nice on Ryvita. Peanut butter's good too, but not particularly healthy!

Urgh nothing, it tastes horrible. It's not even real food.
Why not have carrot sticks/pepper sticks dipped in hummus or low fat philly cheese as a healthy snack instead? At least that's got more flavour and you'll be getting one of your five a day.

Hummus and peanut butter.
Peanut butter is especially good as an energy reboost or post gym.
Also just use them as sandwiches. So stick chicken, cheese etc. on them.
Dark ryvita only though. Plain is horrid.
