mate, i misread half the questions on one of my A2 papers...and trin freshers guide says something about working 40 hours a week, so i think it's expected...
All through the summer?! 1st year people have been working through all of the summer?! I've only read like 4 philosophy books. Well, I know who's *not* going to get a first next year, and that's me.

Don't worry. Minimo's just a bit overly keen. No one I know did any significant work over the summer and they coped.

theres reading though and there is *reading*. You can read tonnes of books before you get there and not actually take any of it in. I read a few hundred pages on Marx today and I can barely remember any of it now. Invented communism, had a mate called Engels, didnt like religion very much, thought philosophers didnt do enough to change the world. errr... thats about it.
All that its done is made me feel quite self satisfied to do some work that wasn't absolutely necessary. I'll probably read a different book tomorrow, so if anyone asks what I've been reading recently (ie my mum checking that i havent played age of empires all day long) I can list a wide range of authors, say a sentence that sounds awfully authorative on their works and sound awfully impressive

Nope, most people who got firsts will have done sod-all over the summer as well, because most people generally will have done sod-all! It's entirely unnecessary to do much at all other than enjoy the last few weeks of freedom before term kicks in! So don't panic
