i do not know any guys who do that and it sounds like a stupid idea tbh.
Phew...for a second there I thought you were talking about paying females to be your friends. :lolwut:

if i offer to pay it will be a date, not a friendly dinner

A friend paid for me once but I guess that was only because we hadn't seen each other for aaaages and he's dirty rich.

But friends offer to buy me coffee etc, and it never once seemed anything but platonic. Maybe it's just cuz they all know I'm poor XD
No...seems like a silly idea to me. I have paid for some friends' meals though when they didn't have any money..out of just sympathy haha
I don't. If I'm with a 1 or 2 friends, then we just pay for ourselves. If it's a big group, then we all chip in a fair amount each.
...if it was a date and he paid he'd get points, but if it was just a friendly meal i'd get uncomfortable and think he wanted more or something :/
romantically or platonically, generally I always go dutch. Sorry but a vagina doesn't entitle you to free things. Sometimes, I'll announce that I will be buying them dinner but just going for a meal the woman should pay and she should want to pay too.
I've had a guy friend buy me a coffee once but looking back i think he may have thought we were on a date...oops!
And my mate did once buy me a ticket to see a show, but he is verrrry rich and knew i was only watching it to keep him company so i reckon that's fair enough. (oh, and he's gay)
Normally though i'd say it was a bit weird though, sweet, but he probably wants more

This. :yep:
My guy friend ALWAYS pays for me. I don't know why, he always insists. Everything come to think of it. I see him alot too, I should probably start making him split with me.
The most I've got from a male (and in this case, loaded) friend is coffee. I've got lots of male friends and they've never paid for me. I'd be suspicious if they tried :p:
What? You'll pay for my meal AND I don't even have to have sex with you?
Score.

I don't think it is totally weird. I normally pay for my friends and most of my friends are girls so I generally pay for female friends. If we go out as a big group then everyone chips in but if it is just me and a few friends then I normally pay. And I always seem to buy coffee for them (and myself, but this might just be because I always get coffee and don't ever ask, just buy for them). I'm not sexist or anything, it just seems to be the normal thing for me to do... :s-smilie: I would just like to add that I don't expect anything from female friends and the fact that I pay on dates doesn't mean I expect anything from the date either (but it is welcome :P ).
