I think Mansfield's first one is going to be "Kings and Queens".

Most people come dressed up, but most interpret the theme with varied scrutiny and crassness.

Teddy Hall's theme is 'Golf Pros and Tennis Hos' as well. I had a devil of a time tracking down green fishnet tights, I can tell you...

Reply 3

It's probably a joint bop. Brasenose/Teddy Hall had one last year.

Something to do with Hollywood and 'stars'.

As Rxb said, its a joint Bop - imaginative idea tho....

Generally I find it's the girls that bother getting dressed up and the guys don't bother. I hope we have a good bop theme when we go back!

Reply 7

anyone know what keble's theme is?

Reply 8

i did know, but i forgot. LMH's is going as some dude you was in a past life. i'm stuck between Jesus and Elvis...

Reply 9

i've been told that at exeter we're having a beach themed bop... sounds like a laugh!!

Reply 10

anyone know what theme jesus is having? how comes everyones already heard about their fresher's weeks- all i've had is official letters about meetings with the college doctor and chaplain and computer inductions!

Our first is the Circus Bop- "Bring your whips" it says. These bops sound so cheesey.

Same for Merton. I'm thinking PVC catsuit and whip: Lucy Liu in Charlie's Angels?

on my freshers guide is says that the Catz entz (is this the same as a bop?) is "the name game entz" ....could anyone shed any light on what that is?!

Anyone know Trinity's?

or Magdalen's?

I thought that Magd was having a joint bop with Teddy Hall and St. Hilda's, but if Brasenose and Teddy Hall are joint, then I just don't know what to think!

Just don't let us be stuck with St. Hilda's on our own! (joke)

It says Toga bop on my Univ Fresher's week timetable. So I'd guess there's an ancient Rome theme...

hmm, haven't had any joint bops in my 2 years. so would be quite a drastic change of entz direction..

bops are normally just in the bar. or if whole venues (jongleurs/freuds) for christmas parties they're whole college rather than being joint JCR ventures.

we are isolated/superior/snobbish/rah remember..! :ridinghor

I think this is a special thing just for freshers - and, I suppose, there wouldn't be enough freshers (at least, those inclined to go to a bop) to fill up the JCR bar (I haven't seen it - perhaps it's tiny-small) so we're supposedly going off to Teddy Hall.

I'm not too much of a "bop" person anyway, didn't usually bother to dress up for school events... don't know if I'd dress up if I knew the theme anyway.

PS: the horse-riding smiley is cool. Word up.
