Each good in their own way: Law full of fat cats and arrogant knob heads. Medicine is full of nobles trying to save lives with a tad bit of snobbery.

LAW = MEDICINE

End of thread

No, you get death threats instead :p:

@OP: who cares which one is more reputable, I sure hope you didn't go into law for the sole reason of prestige

Nope, im going into Law because i enjoy it, it interests me, it also brings in good money and will support my eventual ambition of going into property.

No, lawyers are English and cover solicitors and barristers...attorneys are American.

Its not as clear cut as that, because Americans call themselves Lawyers and no-one who knows a good degree about law from Britian would call themselves a Lawyer, they understand that they are either a Solicitor or a Barrister..

You said lawyers is American, well it's not, it's English. And maybe someone would call themselves a barrister or a solicitor, but generally speaking they are a lawyer.. if someone asks me what I want to do when I finish my degree I say become a lawyer cause I haven't decided whether i want to be a solicitor or barrister yet. I generally think Americans call themselves attorneys..come to think of it saying lawyer in my head in an American accent just doesn't sound right ha.

Law.

Since Lawyers can get the medicine folk out of trouble when their next patient is a liability to everyone

But in all seriousness...I value Lawyers more.

Hey, just wanted your opinions on what profession (Law or Medicine) is regarded as better or having more authority over the other?
Whilst studying Law at A2, i found that they compete all the time without knowing, through statute, common law etc.

Most people have told me Medicine? Come on you Law reps, fightback!

Doctors. They help people, lawyers just lie

Use your common sense?
The word "Better" can be interpreted in many ways but usually they tend to be the same or in accordance with eachother... what i mean is, what profession has a "better" reputation among "normal" people i.e. the mass population who view both these professions as highly contributory

What one is more influential, what profession is cooler? :yep:

this is the most ridiculously stupid thread on tsr. you have no clue, my friend, and as a result you would be a terrible doctor OR lawyer.

Law brings justice to society.
Medicine preserves , creates and improves lives. Medicine has more of an effect. ..... They are both as important. BUT. What good is a law that says you aren't allowed to steal and nobody to give cancer treatment. (I know my analogy is crap)

Consultants in hospitals are generally arrogant idiots. As are many GPs.

Everyones a ****

Exactly my point. So I needed clarification.
Better in terms of wages?
Job satisfaction?
Contribution to society?
e.g Pay and contribution to society are not "the same or in accordance to each other" because you either mean personal or social benefit.
It's a bold statement to claim that everyone accepts a doctor or a lawyer as contributory, because different people hold their own meaning to the term "contributory" depending on their individual principles.

My common sense is very well intact, thank you.

No, you're not my friend and never would be.

It is stupid. Categorically.

If you took the time to look at my profile, you would see I am a qualified solicitor, and I pursued my career at a Magic Circle firm until I resigned to start a Medical degree. Now who's the chump?

Again, dont assume i targeted your common sense, all i said was that you might like to use it? instead of picking posts apart on petty things, i appreciate your point and i have clarified what i mean by better in older posts.. thanks.
