How many lessons did you guys take?
I arranged 15 lessons, hoping that should be enough for me to pass.
After the 15 lessons, I'll also be practicing with my dad for a bit.
He's got a dual control on a nissan micra and he used to be a driving instructor ages ago

To get u'r driving license you have to:

1. Get provisional license
2. Pass theory
3. Pass practical

Not a complex process tbh.
Take as many lessons as you feel that you need to take.

average time to pass your test is roughly 30hrs worth of lessons, lessons normaly range from £20-25 depending wot area u live in and wot company/instructor u get

theory test is around £20 i believe

practicle is aroun £80 i think,

All together your looking to spend between £500-900 depending how much out of lesson experience u get

My advice is stay away from BSM, there probably the worst compnay to go for

The AA are pretty good and you get a decent car to drive (the new ford focus and all the instructors have loads of experience)

Also buy your lessons in bulk, dont by a lesson when you need it, buy 10 lessons in advance etc and you'll end up saving money

the practical is £42.

and with the AA on the day of ur practical test-u also use up 2hrs worth of lessons (practice hour, then actual test- think thats standard).

i learnt with AA n my instrucotr was brilliant!

mine is £18/hour.

I'm going with a private guy- costs £15/hr.

Mine were £23 a lesson! And I had loads

I'd say roughly you need 10-20 hours of driving, I really suggest you try and get your own car and persuade Mum or Dad to sit in with you, that's where I did the bulk of my learning.

I had 14 lessons, I had 1 x 2 hour lesson every week and I used to drive absolutely loads with my Mum. I started learning on Jan 6th, passed my test on May 8th (Second time, first I failed 1 major no minors for not looking over my shoulder!). Took my first on March 16th I think it was

It's the best thing you'll ever do - it's amazing! Good luck

Yeah, that's why I went for him!

Mine was £15 a lesson. Had 40 lesson. Plus provisional license, plus theory test (just the one), plus practical test (again just one), plus upgrading license came to around about £800 I believe.

I'd also recommened staying away from BSM. For one they're really expensive and for two the instructor I saw on the motorway the other day was absolutely rubbish and didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing!!

The impression I get is that the BSM people don't really care, because they are a big company and will always get endless supply of customers. However if the local instructors don't do a good job then people would spread words around and they won't have any business!

ditto with the driving school points made above - get a recommendation of a friend if possible!

my private dude was £23  ; my cousin had an instructor for £12 p/h

before i passed, mine were £20 an hour or 5 hours for £90, my instructor was great, he was a good laugh and really tried hard to teach you tips on how to drive for the examiners

12? wow.

Reply 16

yeah! but the intstructor was a joke apparently! good thing he was already quite a good driver - he just need an instructor to make sure he hadn't forgotten/missed something out!

Reply 17

Oh! looks like quality is directly proportional to cost! :p:

unfortunately

i suggest block booking 10 too. Should save you a couple of quid in the long run. My lessons cost £20
