not compatible with flatmates

Hi everyone. I'm moving into a house in september with 3 others for my second year, but i'm really worried about it as I don't think we're going to get on well. They are all friends of mine and asked me to live with them but I only said yes because I had nowhere else to live. They're all party animals who love drinking and partying every night whereas I am quieter and although I like to go out once or twice a week I also like staying in. I'm worried that my uni work will suffer because of my living situation and also that I'll just get really mad at them all the time and end up arguing, making our living situation unbearable. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

omg yes!

Ok firstly this is perfectly normal, when they are being noisy just go to the library and work there, that is what I had to do in my 1st year. I was living with these crazy chav girls who treated me like **** cos I was not as mental as they were. They used to hide my stuff, wake me up at 5 in the morning, it got to the point where I had to move home for 1 month.

In my 2nd year I lived with these boring guys (1 was really cool though), and what was nice was they were respectful, quiet and not acting like idiots but I really have nothing in common with them and I am living with them this september in my final year. To be honest I am not that bothered, cos I just need a house which will be relativley easy living and I can hang out with my other mates who live sort of nearby.

So I totally know how you feel, I had such a bad living experience in my 1st year, they almost made me cry lol!
I mean I dunno whether you can just abandon these people and find a place in a quiet halls of residence? Or maybe you should just plan who you will live with next year, if you find someone nice? and just put up with these people this year, just hit the library loads!
