Going from free bus travel to paying £1.20 is HUGE!

You get to keep your +16 till your turning 19, after that you pay 70%

Reply 7

I'm 19 but I've been using my little brother's 13+ oyster card for the past 2 years. It's really cheap.

I cycled to college last year :king1: but that was to avoid the rip-off South West Trains fare.

The 30% discount is only for 1 week/month/year passes. You have to pay the adult rate for single fares. £1.20 is expensive considering the quality of service.

BTW- if you pay a single fare then have to change bus (cos it broke down or whatever) get the driver to give you a receipt so yo dont pay twice.

U dont get free bus travel
Im going to apply for the 16-18 oyster card in a few days XD

£1.20 is very cheap compared to the rest of England.

Reply 16

Considering I can pay £1.40 to get 3 miles away or with my oyster on london buses it's free/would be £1.20 to get 20miles away...

Still a blow, but train fares etc are still a lot cheaper than anywhere else

Thats a tad high.

Its 70p for me single! The joys of county council subsidising kids fares up to the age of 21, however I'm very impressed with the £2.05 return fare from Ipswich to Stowmarket - its 30 miles round trip.
