Questions!

I have several questions related to relationships. Just wondering what everyone's views were, as I've noticed amongst my group of friends everyone has VERY different answers and opinions to these questions.
1. What is the difference between seeing and going out with someone?
2. If there is a difference; how long after beginning to see someone (if not asked to go out) is it before one should assume they are now in a relationship?
3. At what point is a relationship serious? (How long)
4. How long into a relationship should one wait before having sex/ any form of sexual activity? (I know of people who have limits like 2 weeks for kissing, 1 month for hands etc. Strange people :p: )

All questions are irrelevant. Don't do things by other peoples' standards. When have feelings and love been logical and defined?

I use the terms "seeing" and "going out" interchangeabley  And when you're in a relationship you tend to do what is natural. If doing something doesn't feel right, don't do it. If you don't want to have sex, don't do it.

There are no rules about "serious" relationships, eg how long etc. My bf always joked that he'd know it wasn't a fling after 6 months, but to be honest, we both knew before then it was never a fling.

And theres no specific time you should wait to have sex. Wait until you are comfortable together, you want to do it, and you are secure in your relationship.

And hopefully it will all work out for the best
1. To me, going out with someone means actually being in a relationship with them..as in "he's my boyfriend" type thing. Seeing someone is more like going on dates and just, not being in an actual relationship with the person.

2. It's not a matter of assuming, in my opinion. If you're seeing someone and you would like to actually start a serious relationship with the person, you should talk about it and see what happens. And by serious relationship I mean an actual boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.

3. I don't know. Depends.

4. Uhh whatever feels right.
Seeing someone is much more casual. Going out is actually boyfriend/girlfriend.

I don't think you can ever assume you're now in a relationship. For me what always happens is after seeing someone for a while, the "what are we?" conversation comes up and we agree we would like to be together.

A relationship is as serious as you make it.

Have sex whenever you're ready. With my last boyfriend we waited just over 3 months which I actually really appreciated. I'd had some bad experiences in the past of guys just being after sex (which my ex knew about) so he wanted to prove that he wasn't like that.

These are my own personal "rules".

1. What is the difference between seeing and going out with someone? Seeing is more casual I guess, but where I live seeing and going out mean the same. But where I'm at uni, seeing is more like dating, probably means that you haven't been asked out/asked them out.

2. If there is a difference; how long after beginning to see someone (if not asked to go out) is it before one should assume they are now in a relationship? When you agree to make it more serious/ask them out/they ask you out. You shouldn't assume.

3. At what point is a relationship serious? (How long) It varies. Normally takes about three/four months though.

4. How long into a relationship should one wait before having sex/ any form of sexual activity? Just do what feels right, and it's probably best to make sure it's serious unless you don't really care about physical stuff.

it really depends on the person, but heres my opinions:

1. What is the difference between seeing and going out with someone?

Seeing someone is when you go out on dates every now and again. Like cinema etc etc. And going out with someone is when you get past that point and are considered bf/gf < i think. At that point ur hangoing out at home rather than going out on dates.

2. If there is a difference; how long after beginning to see someone (if not asked to go out) is it before one should assume they are now in a relationship?

Erm a few months, But surely that would be communicated at some point?

3. At what point is a relationship serious? (How long)

I would say about 6 months, ive had non serious relationships up to that point. But with my current bf it was serious from the start, we fell in love even before we got together.

4. How long into a relationship should one wait before having sex/ any form of sexual activity?

Depends on the person, with my ex i waited for 2 months for any sexual activity. But with my current bf it was 2 weeks < but thats because it felt right< been together 17months now!

1. What is the difference between seeing and going out with someone?

seeing someone is just casual dates whereas going out is boy/girlfriend...but i hate the term 'going out'

2. If there is a difference; how long after beginning to see someone (if not asked to go out) is it before one should assume they are now in a relationship?

It depends, i mean my boyfriend now and I never had a 'will you go out with me?' we both kinda hung around alot and eventually at a party we kinda admitted how we felt about each other.

3. At what point is a relationship serious? (How long)

err well if you're in a relationship then i would say it was serious, in my mind if you dont see the relationship as serious you shouldnt be in one, just stick to casual dates.

4. How long into a relationship should one wait before having sex/ any form of sexual activity? (I know of people who have limits like 2 weeks for kissing, 1 month for hands etc. Strange people )

It really depends on how you feel, i mean there are people eho have limits like that, but it depends on how you feel and if the time is right. you cant plan for how long it is till it happens(or how short)

But really im not sure why you're asking, it is not what others say/do that matters, all that matters are the feelings of you and your partner.
