I'd recomend cutting back on coffee, chocolate and other sweet things as they can cause mood swings.

Try singing, dancing, listening to music or physical acrivity.

If somethnig is bothering you talk to someone. I have a lot of experience with mood swings and depression and I certainly wouldnever reccomend medication.

I usually go lift some heavy ass weights down the gym, or go for a spin. 8000rpm scream always does it for me.

Good sir; are you a man, or a motorbike?

One of my friends was feeling really down recently and he said that he couldn't understand why and he kept giving reasons such as 'school' etc but then he said that he was looking for something to blame his unhappiness on and that nothing was really the cause of it. We decided that exercising when down would help and cutting out any caffeine or anything probably does as well, but he also said that if he felt annoyed he would count to 10 and tell himself that it didn't matter too much, and that if things hadn't improved after 2 weeks we would see a doctor together. I would also recommend getting a regularish sleep pattern.

I know we all get kinda down in the dumps sometimes, so what do you find helps cheer you up? Just now I feel really really low and I can't put my finger on why. I'm in a loving relationship,I've got good friends,I'm happy with my appearance, happy with my social life,I've got decent grades and school hasn't been too pressurising lately but today I just couldn't face going in to school because I feel so crap.

I wouldn't say I'm depressed just feeling blue, usually I can cheer myself up by having something to look forward to like the fact I'm going out tommorow night with my friends, but that doesn't seam to make me feel any better :s-smilie: and next year I'm going to T in the park and hopefully taking a couple months out before uni to go to france but these seam ages away so they don't do it either.

I've tried listening to music which sometimes does the trick but that doesn't help, I've tried chilling out but then I start to feel guilty that I'm not doing something productive. Can anyone suggest how to get myself out of this?

What make you pleasure ? I love to see the sea that cheer me up.

I recommend taking a day off from everything, and spend it doing not-very-much. Rushing around stresses me out and lazy days make everything better. Watch a movie, deep condition your hair, paint your toenails. Invite friends round if you feel like it, but not if you don't. Then in the evening go out and laugh a lot. Laughing helps.

hehe, In the dark eh?

But, I like sleeping, taking hot baths, and doing nothing. Oh and watching a movie whilst on a cold evening is great. I wish it were summertime again....(sigh).

I think, considering you have non obvious worries or problems that the reason you feel blue is boredom. Set yourself a challenge..I'm off to university but was terribly bored during the holidays. I quite like acting so I have been learning a monologue (I don't have to, I just enjoy it), but maybe that isn't for you. Do try and find a challenge and then complete it....you will not be bored and will have achieved something.

Shove on some music; Evanescence, Rasmus, stuff like that, maybe get some chocolate, and do a sesh on mario kart usually perks me up, otherwise coming down here and talking to ppl on tsr is good :tsr:

Physical exercise, if I can. The endorphines make me feel all light and floaty!

Nothing like a good session at the gym. Either lift heavy weights or run on the treadmill whilst listening to some good music.

Go for a blaze, go gym, go 4 a drive. Most guys (some girls 2!) have another remedy which works pretty well...

When I'm depressed I don't feel particularly in the mood for sex, but maybe that's just me! :p:
