I'm still getting letters from Wolverhampton and its 5 yrs since I started my undergrad, 6 since I made my UCAS applications. Luton sent me letters for about a year and a half too, and I tend to get alot of letters from Birmingham, I went to their open day but it wasnt one of my choices.

The scholarship's sponsored by Pfizer (yes the Viagra and TCP people) but I've declined the offer - an Oxford degree is a better passport for success.

has anyone else had letters virtually begging them to come to there uni.

Bangor sent me a periodic table and told me they would still consider an application rcieved up till 30th june,How desperate is that.
i got an offer from cardiff despite standing them up 3 times for an interview! after 3 letters asking for an interview (which i ignored), and me withdrawing the application, they sent an offer anyway!

oh and another uni said at a he fair, please come to an open day, we'll pay your train and ill come and pick you up!

That reminds me - some Bristol tutor gave me a lift to the station. Nice, I know. And dangerous - one shouldn't get into a car with a stranger.

lol a friend of mine was going down by train to an interview at Southampton, but as usual the trains were delayed... so he foned the admissions tutors to say that he'd be late... and they said, no worries, take a taxi when you get there, we'll pay for it!

I'm still getting letters from Bangor begging me to apply there - even though the deadline was last week and my application went to ucas in November!! I think it must be because I took one of their pens at a HE conference thing or something!

On that note, my friend sent off her UCAS application a few days after the deadline and she's worried she won't get into any of her universities. She applied to Aberdeen, Derby, Canterbury Christ Church, Staffordshire, Sheffield and Coventry. Do you think she'll be ok?

Several of those unis are ones that have many of their courses come up for clearing, so she should be okay. Will depend also on how good a candidate she is of course

I've received unconditional offers from East Anglia and Leicester for History although I only presently have A-levels in Politics and English Literature (AA grades). Durham have asked for an A in History, that's my first choice.

So far I've received two offers for English Lit than are lower than those that are given as standard by each uni & that other applicants I know have received. East Anglia offered BBB for an ABB course, while Southampton are asking for 360 points when typically it's 370. Weird.

Tho it's so nice to feel wanted

O/T, but after I turned down St Andrew's they sent me a form asking why I'd rejected them... with a 1-5 "Very influential" to "Not influential" thing for factors like "Lack of nightlife" and "Presence of Prince William..."

Bangor are good for quite a few subjects actually.
I got a letter from Bangor trying to get me to apply there for some sort of businessy course when I'm applying for psychology (I was interested in business last year when we got those ucas smartcard things).

Oh and to answer the question, nope I got pretty standard offers. Except for Warwick who gave me a 39 point offer (their standard offer is 34).

The *****.
