Getting over the flu.

I've been lucky enough to catch the flu :frown: and although I think i'm over the worst of it, i'm still feeling quite crap. It's particularly annoying because i've already missed about a week of school because of it and I can't afford to still be sick over the holiday weekend because I really need to use it to catch up with the work I've missed. I'm doing all the usual: regular paracetamol, lots of fluids, and generally reeking of menthol, but other than this is there anything anyone would recommend to speed up the recovery process? Thanks! xx

Tea! Even better if it's black. Dont try to rub your nose that much when sneezing either as youll get dry/dead skin to deal wit around your nose a few days after the flu which is annoying! No medication can sort a flu. Fact. Ive tried most medications/pain killers when suffering from the flu. Try taking a vitamin B complex to avoid flus in the future.

Get well soon!

Beechams is really good, lemsip max is even better I find.

Have lots of rest and drink lots of clear fluids, as much sleep as you can to help your body recover naturally.

I also use homeopathic remedies, have a look on www.abchomeopathy.com which you can match your symtoms to, and then www.helios.co.uk where you can order some and they usually arrive the next day, if you want to give complementary therapy a go!

Hot orange with honey in it isn't gonna get rid of the flu but you feel a damn site better!!
Echinacea tablets or tincture is great, and Garlic is really good for flu provided u don't mind nobody coming near you!!
I agree with the others - Beechams or Day/Night Nurse is the works!!
