yep.

bigcnee, have you done M1?
was it ahrd, i.e.) compared to P1?

coz i am gonna start it soon, along side P2 (which i am over half way through)
Have you got to trigonometry yet, that stuff almost made me lose my hair.

It's just learning identities and the solution system.
Frustrating, but I wouldn't call it hard.

I did M1. I think M1 and P1 are comparable, but maybe M1 has newer concepts (unless you've done Physics).
what level are you at in your education? uni? A2s?

Trigonometry Pure 1 i quite enjoyed, it was not difficult at all, easy infact.

i havent got on to P2 trig.

so far i have done Polynomials, Polynomial Equations and Factor Theorums, Exponentials and Logarithms, Modulus Function & Other Graphs, and Differentiation again (i thought it was same as P1 really!).

If you don't remember all the identities it is hard. If you have loads of time and all the identities in front of you, then it's tolerable. But it's the hardest thing in P2 anyway in my opinion.

You only have to know 2 identities for P1, wait until you get to P2 and P3. You may as well start memorising the P2 trigonometry identities now.

I would say P2 isn't that hard but there is a lot of work involved in it. And P2 logs, diff and sequence are easy chapters!

Trig is the killer - so many of them formulaes to learn to use.

So what are the hard chapters in it do you think? Logs is also quite tricky, that's only due to the fact of all the laws to be learnt for it.

Exponentials and Logarithms is pretty easy.
yes, i have done the easier chapters in P2, its the trig thats hard as u said.

I'm glad i don't have to do Maths any more, it was bad for my blood pressure.

So which modules are you taking for Maths? P1, P2, M1.....

Oh and the proof work can be difficult because its not really a chapter we have been taught.

better if you can derive them all yourself though..... it's hard just memorising them, what if you forget?

just do them all from sin^2+cos^2 = 1 and sin (A+B) and cos (A + B)

i am doing AQA Syllabus B:

Pure 1, Pure 2, Mechanics 1, Pure 3, Pure 4, Pure 5, Mechanics 2, and 2 Statistics Modules.

Overall, that will get me:

Full A-Level in Mathematics
AS Level in Further Mathematics

M1 is about the same as P1 - it will seem so easy by the time you do P3!

It wont take that long to do!

M1 can be done in a few weeks on your own if you put your mind to it.

Well I've nearly done M2 by myself in only two weeks, so M1 definitely can be done!
