I have this headach and it's killing me ,started after my nap andwoke up several times and forced my self to get back to sleep because of this headach, I don't know what to do, I hate it, and to add it all I feel really low and it's making mny headach worse

Are you drinking lots of water? Dehydration gives you awful headaches (which unfortunately I know from experience!). I find that if I wake up with a headache trying to go back to sleep makes it worse, try getting up and having a hot shower, it'll relieve tension in your neck and back which may have developed from sleeping in a strange position, and will help your headache go away. Hope this helps!

I get migranes alot and have been prescribed all sorts of medication for them. I have also tried many different remedies because i dont like to take tablets all the time (i cant stomach them when i have a migrane) and found some that are quite helpfull.

Alot of headaches and migranes are caused by swelling of blood vessels in the brain. One thing you can do to relieve this is to place a cold cloth or cold pack on your head over the pain. The cold causes vaso-constriction (blood vessels getting smaller) so if your headache is caused by vaso-dialation(Swollen blood vessels), it really can help. If not, the cold is quite soothing anyway.

another thing you can try is to use both hands to cup your toes one foot at a time and squeaze, making sure you apply pressure to the ball of your foot. This is a method used in reflexology and i have found it to help me on occasions.

The fore head stuff thats advertised on tv is pretty good. Its like a little stick you apply to your forehead. IT smells very strongly of vapour rub and makes your skin go all cold and tingly. This doesnt get rid of the headache itself (for me anyway) but its very soothing and takes the edge off it a bit.

Just get some rest, i hope you feel better soon :hugs:

As my mum (GP) would say "pint of water and get an early night"

- And then the third time you pester, she gives you two 500mg desolving paracetamol.

Its worked for my for the last 18years!

Did you do anything to cause it? not drink? not eat? get a vaccination? etc
Does it hurt more when you open your eyes?
I know this is probably a little late now, but there's something my dad taught me which always seems to help. Calmly sit down and think about your headache. Don't think of the pain, just examine every bit of it - think carefully about where in your head it is. I know it sounds weird but it's always worked for me. It does take a bit of getting used to. And it's definitely a mind over matter thing. If you sit there thinking "this is never going to work" then it won't. And it's very important that you don't just lapse back into thinking "ouch" - you have to be as objective as you can.
