yeah. on mt the response is gonna be 'nah we all clean bulk cus its our life'. just wondering what students with similar lifestyles thought.

lol so true, I did a bulk where I ate clean stuff but as much of it as I wanted, put on a stone in 8 weeks, as you can tell, most of that was fat, so my thoughts on it are, don't ever "bulk", just eat properly in a slight calorie surplus and train hard, quality muscle takes a long time to develop so don't put on weight too quickly as it'll mostly likely be the unwanted stuff - fat.
A good site to check out which I found very useful:

Some members do, to be honest I only ever listen to the mods and a few other respected members now, you'll come to realise most of them know as much as you do and to be honest a lot of their advice is for people on steroids, even the ones who reckon they're "natural".

fully agree, but to say they're mean is quite entertaining really. i generally only listen to a couple of people who have given me good results with a few of ther ideas.

is lifting weights a big thing at uni? By this i mean are there alot of people who are seriously into it (not just do it ocassionally for fitness) and for those who are at uni how difficult have you found it timewise and in particular diet wise to stick to a solid program?
Reply 13
Diet wise - depends if you're already into it or not, last year at Uni my diet was rubbish, well, not rubbish, but I found myself eating a lot for rowing and hardly any protein, just getting carbohydrates in so I could actually get through training!

Money is a problem, high protein foods cost a lot, so you might have a problem on that side, also if you were like me and had labs and/or 4 hours of lectures in a row it can cause a bit of a problem, but other than that its just the same as at home.

why to take what people say online for granted when you can ask trainers/coaches at the gym, they can help you far much more, and do these several tests, and strength test to achieve the best

PTers at the gym are full of **** 100%
I tried a dirty bulk and the results weren't pleasant and cutting the fat i put on was a pain. So now I just clean bulk as far as possible. Obviosuly, some days I do allow the odd cheat otherwise id just go insane, but generally my diet is pretty clean.

no they can't. see someone who has a routine prescribed by a gym instructor compared to someone has researched on the net. compare the two in a year.

I'm gonna clean it up. Eating crap makes you feel like crap anyway.
By the way, who's looking foreward to the 2005 Olympia. 15th October. What will Ron look like this time?

thats so untrue!!!!

im a regular poster on there, check me out sometime, my name is Stone on there. ive asked one of the mods to change my name on here to Stone

oh btw, no dude, when you bulk, its not about eating or allowing yourself to eat more junk. you just have to eat more and cycle your food, i.e. have days where you eat high carbs medium protein and medium fat, then days where you eat high protein, high fat and medium carbs.

youve got to eat well above the standard 2500cals a day since your a guy, should aim for 3500-4000 cals which is a heck of alot! im bulking at the mo and cant eat that much as at uni. i do take protein shakes with me and meal replacement powders too.
