Outlook and Warwick email information:

To anyone who will find this useful (anyone who uses outlook):

When at Warwick, email settings for Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express are as follows..

Name: Yourname
Email: [email protected]

Logon Info:

User Name: your warwick login (not your email prefix)
Password: ******

Incoming Mail Server: smail.csv.warwick.ac.uk
Outgoing Mail Server smail.csv.warwick.ac.uk

Thats all been tested and works, as for the Outgoing mail server I *guess* that is correct, although i'd have to be at warwick (sat!) to test it. can anyone whos not a fresher confirm this possibly?

no probs! when i arrive tommorow i *will* get it outgoing mail to work! ill post it here lol...

in the meantime, another guess: smtp.warwick.ac.uk, or smtp.csv.warwick.ac.uk... might even depend on your accomidation!!

warwick's smtp servers are notoriously bad. So much so that I gave up on using outlook to get email last year and now just use webmail.warwick.ac.uk

Ok, ive done it, here are the settings:

Name: Yourname
Email: [email protected]

Logon Info:

User Name: your warwick login (not your email prefix)
Password: ******

Incoming Mail Server: smail.csv.warwick.ac.uk
Outgoing Mail Server mail-relay.csv.warwick.ac.uk

THEN click more settings, outgoing server:
Check Outgoing server requires login, Log on using: and fill in your details
Check that this server requires SPA.

Of course, if you want to access other email accounts you can add another adress, and change the POP3 details, and the POP3 logon details, but you have to keep the Outgoing (SMTP) details as they are.
