A-Levels for Mechanical Engineering.

Hi, i Have a younger brother entering 6th form next year and he wants to study mechanical engineering at uni but doesn't know the best A-levels to take.

So far he's decided on:
Further Maths
Physics

He's not sure what to take as a third. He was thinking art, but is it feasible, time-wise, to do an art and further maths a-level or would D&T be a better option? Having done Art a-level myself i know how time-consuming it is and personally i think further maths and art would be too hard to manage successfully. Any opinions/advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Maths...if he hasn't done that yet.

From what I hear, though correct me if I'm wrong, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics are a must for most engineering courses now. The other is arguable for most helpful though I would suggest Chemistry.
You are correct: Art is bloody impossible to manage, especially with Further Maths. Perhaps Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry?

Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry

Do take Chemistry. Though it's a little tough but it's worthwhile.

in mechanical engineering, there's a lot of emphasis on being able to use the machinery so DT would be helpful I'd of thought.
Although chemistry would also be good to do.
