The experiment done for my coursework:

Randomly selected participants, put into vacant classroom in a secondary school, where they did a written test into visual spatial skills. It was done to investigate gender differences in this field. The same number of males as females were used, same age, ethnic background, social class etc.

What experimental design would you say it is, Field or Laboratory?

    Thanks for any help.

Im a bit rusty at the moment but I think it is a field experiment because the students are doing activities that are familiar to them. They would do tests in their everyday lives at school. Furthermore, they did it in a classroom which is thier normal environment. The definition of a filed experiment is "the researcher deliberately manipulates the independent variable(s) but does so in the subjects own natural environment". Your experiment sound similar to that kind of thing. Hope that helps.
