Going out with someone at school...

Ive just started going out with someone at school. Ive known him for ages but am thinking it might be weird at school. Has anyone found this or is it usually ok? Any thoughts?

I think most people think it's bad to go out with someone that goes to your same school because of the "we'll see each other way too often and people will talk and gossip all the time, plus we might not be able to have any privacy or show any form of affection and if we fight we'll be forced to see each other and everyone will know, etc etc etc" deal. I don't know if this is true or not since I've never gone out with a person from school. But anyways, if you like him and want to be in a relationship with him...it really shouldn't matter to you whether you go to the same school or not...right?

If you really like him go for it. 3/4of the guys i have dated have been at the same school as me, but i guess i didnt have much of an option being im in the middle of nowhere with 1 college nearby.

If u dnt want 2 b lovey dovey in front of ppl and mates, xplain it to ur boyf. Take it each day at a time. Dont think about others. If they gossip about u, they must have a pretty sad life coz if ur love life is all that there is for them to talk about, well, i must say id pity them...or tell them to get a life depending on my mood. i shouldn't see it being a problem, just be prepared to brush off a few nasty comments from people and possibly alot of rumours going around. I know plenty of people that are with people in the same year and its gone well, apart from a few other people,which is mostly jealosy i think. :wink:

I did it with a girl from my class. It was awesome being able to see her so much. If you think you're gonna get bored seeing each other so much then something is wrong. It should be a good thing...

I'm going out with someone from school, and we do get talked about (mainly cos we're always together) but if you keep your relationship private, there's nothing to worry about. People will want to know whats going on... but its none of their business so don't get caught up in it! :smile:

And.... cos you're going out with someone at school, you get to spend loads of time together which is awesome! :biggrin:

if you really wanted to go out with him I'm not sure you'd be asking this question. Maybe it's best if you get to know him a bit better first, then this question will become redundant as you'll either decide you really want to go out with him and to hell with what some people in your year might think, or you'll decide he's not the one and find someone else.

Never had the problem of going out with someone at school because it was an all girls school but I did have a year of after school classes with someone I was in a relationship with. I think it annoyed people as it was a small class and we sat together but oh well. Really can't imagine how it would be good to be at school with a boyfriend/girlfriend..
