Hey- I won't be going to Bath Uni (I'll be down the road in Bristol), but as I spent my sixth form and many underage nights out in Bath I'll try and help as much as I can... So here goes: Friday night cheese is excellent at Po Na Na which is in the vicinity of the abbey and although it's underground you can spot the entrance either by the queue or by the lairy looking bouncers at the top of the steps... however, it does get a bit packed and VERY VERY hot... but the cave, souk like atmosphere is good and the drinks prices aren't extortionate. Cheese is also good on tuesdays at Delfter Krug which is near the theatre royal and just off Queens Square. Delfter's also good for having a main bar downstairs which plays different music to the large-ish dance floor upstairs. T's (or The Playground as it's officialy known) has two dance floors- one which plays cheese and commercial music, the other plays RnB and HipHop. It is fairly difficult to find as it's right down by the river and by the beer garden for The Boater Pub but it's always a good night out there. Alternative and Rock with live bands etc, head to Moles which is on George Street (at the top of Milsom street) underneath bars like RSVP and opposite The Litten Tree, Slug and Lettuce, Vodka Revolutions.... George Street does have a few chain bars but they aren't too expensive- for a guaranteed cheap drinks pub head to The Assembly Inn up the hill from George Street, near The Assembly Rooms (wouldya believe it?)
Quickly about other clubs: stay away from Cadillacs unless you enjoy getting stuck to the floor and being leered at from desperate members of the opposite sex, Babylons is good if you're into chavvy atmospheres, and Cube is a bit pricey for the average student but has great seating areas for when you just want to relax. One word of warning though- clubs in Bath do tend to be very very small so you will probably get beaten up quite a bit... also, I got a bit bored by the limited selection after two years as well so try and vary nights out as much as you can.
Best Kebab shop: Bodrum Takeaway is by far the most popular, but there's Marmaris is equally good and close to Perfect Pizza so everyones needs can be catered for then. Nightlife in Bath is good, and as it's quite a small place you'll always bump into a few people you know which is always good fun. Hope that helps!

No probs... hope you all have a lovely time in Bath, as I'm sure you will! Anyhow, I didn't say all I could about nightlife but I find half the fun of going out is in not really knowing what things will be like etc. Oh, and you'll really begin to feel like a local when you start crossing roads and never look at the buses and cars hurtling towards you. Don't ask me why now but you will find out and pretty soon you'll all be doing it too.

i went to dymk (gay bar) and i'll definately go back because the men on the bar are so lovely
Went to ponanas last night. Drinks queue was 40 minutes long nearer the end of the eve... very crowded and hot and sweaty (not necessarily a BAD thing :P ) brill music; it was all the rock/alternative tracks that you can dance to, which is what i like. i give it about 8/10; drinks queue spoilt it for me.

Hey! - i think rosellen pretty much gave u a round up, but just to say that Bath's nightlife isn't exactly amazing but thats not to say that you can't have a good night!

Theres a range of good pubs/bars around Bath. Revolution is personally my favourite - a contemporary, 2 floored bar with comfy seats and good music (mainly playing old skool/dance/house on fri and sat nights). St Christophers Inn is also one of my favourites, providing a good mix of alternative/old skool indie/rock music on the main nights, as well as providing comfy seats around plasma screen tvs. For cheap drinks there is always Wetherspoons, Assembly Inn and The Grapes. The Grapes has a friendly, local pub-style atmosphere for a quiet drink whilst watching the game. RSVP used to be one of my favourites but now is bombarded by chavs on friday and saturday nights. The Litten Tree is good for watching sports, as is Saracens Head. Slug and Lettece is a swanky-styled pub playing a good mixture of music.

Clubs that i would reccomend would be either Delfter Krug or Moles. The majority of the clubs in bath cater for the mainstream r+b and hip hop scene, however moles have certain nights which cater for alternative tastes, as well as delfter, offering some good funky house nights (mylo performed recently ).

Cadillacs, otherwise known as 'slagillacs', 'chavillacs', 'shagillacs' is, as you can imagine by its various titles, the typical sleazy club of Bath. The only advantages are its student nights on thursdays that offer a quid a pint or something.

Typically, Bath doesnt really hold host to many big named dj's. Nevertheless, Babylon is playin host to hard house dj 'Fergie' at New years, requiring a 15 quid entry!

Its on Monday nights

I wouldn't dream of going to Caddies any day of the week except Mondays, and that's only because it's student night and I'm bound to see loads of my friends whilst drinking cheap alcohol.
Lived here for 18 years of my life. Been at Manchester for two years, Bath sucks for nightlife.
