Ok, no one seems too interested probably through fear of causing someone offence so I will cast the first stone:

1.
The quality of the institute it is being held at and the entry requirements.

What do you consider to be a joke course and why? I am not asking for subjects (although you can name them) more so what you think the definition of one is.

i don't actually understand what a joke course is...which i think is the question...

Not really, its more to do with government setting high entry number targets for universities. So naturally the uni's (some) make some pretty "dodgy" courses to get the funding. i.e. Like General studies in A level.

Ok, a joke course is in my opinion:

A course usually served up at a low ranking "uni" (note use of the term "uni") where the entry requirements are low or possibly non existant. The course will almost certainly be of little practical value to the student and many employers would see it as being a waste of three years and just an excuse to go on the beer for the duration of the course.
ooo! i c! sorry for the really random question
tequila studies, and surf studies are two courses i class as joke courses.

Surly you cant be serious? So each and every course listed in the UCAS handbook is 100% worthwhile and credible?

The worse degree I have seen is Office Skills. Yes it may come in handy but surely you don'y need a degree for this?

Some health and beauty courses seem a little bit of the top to me at degee level too.

Or another way of defining a joke course is 50% of the courses TVU offer (may be not fair).

Is it true that there are two unis in the entire country offering tv production and there are thousands of people applying for like 50 places?
