I'm not there yet, but from what i've heard not a lot!!!

i think i have about 6hours of lectures a week, plus a 3hour practical every week or every other week (most unis are about the same)
then most unis require you to do another 2 modules from a different subject so thats another 2 hours of lectures. there are also tutorials, but dont know how regularly they are!

independently theres also lab reports every week or every other week and some reading (apparently most people don't really bother with that though! guess depends on the uni to how important it is to do!)

think most unis are similarish as nottingham only has lectures 3 days a week (and not many of them then!!!) and i know manchester has a few days off a week as well!

sounds like we picked a good degree!!! (suspect the 2nd and 3rd years may require a bit more work though dammit! hehe)

First year at Bristol i think we had a 3-hour practical session, a 2-hour statistics lecture, and about 3 hours of other lectures a week which required a bit of extra reading. In terms of workload we had to do a lab report every 3 weeks (3000 words), and 4 essays (1500) spread across the year, as well as some stats coursework. Also we had to do open units which took up about half as much time again on average i think. Not too much work, but more than some! Second year much much worse... :frown:

I've just about to go into my second year of Psych degree and I just want to say that you can't really judge how much work a degree requires by the amount of lectures it has  Lectures are only really there as a guide to a certain subject and you have to do a lot of self-study so if a degree doesn't have many lectures it would probably include a lot of self-directed study, for example a mechanical engineering degree might require more lecture time than an english degree because you can't learn about mechanical engineering outside of the labs
