Should I get with the girl that I work with?

Okay. This has me totally stumped.

A guy that I used to work with has now left work (he's going back to Poland). Anyway, he's left his girlfriend here in the UK, and they haven't arranged to see each other again. I like him, and we got on well. I'd consider him to be a friend, although not a good one. They have been going out for a while, but were purely platonic - seperate beds, and all that.

He left today, and basically she is really up for getting together. I find her really attractive, and normally it would be a no-brainer... but what the hell should I do? I don't even know if they are still going out? I can't have a great conversation with her to work all this out as she's foreign and her English sucks  She's older than me and I know it would be so much fun!

I really don't know what to do and am totally 50/50 about this... so I'll give it a day and just do what the majority of you tell me to do.

Thanks for reading. I really look forward to seeing what you have to say about this.

Assuming she is, as you say, 'up for it', then go fish.

hahah..Get with her; it's not as if the Pole is coming back! I note that you like her for non-shallow reasons.

You'd not question the morality of it whatsoever?

I'm agnostic.

He's not coming back and it's not like you're going to have rampant sex with her...

If they do love each other, he wouldn't have left her.

Only hers; but if she's already demonstrated the motivation to deviate, I'd be given to question the morality of refusing her.

You again  :p: hehe Only kidding Xtina - always a pleasure!

Are you being sarcastic again? I'll happily admit that I like for carnal reasons, because, although she is a nice person, we can't exactly hold a great conversation

Raghav: I love the idea of your win-win situation.

I'm never facetious Matty! Don't accuse me of that...

Well, you're not looking for a serious relationship; she probably isn't either. I don't see the problem.

The only time when you should be wary is when the other is truly emotionally invested in that relationship; besides that, there's no shame in a casual relationship. So, go for it because there's no chance you guys can fall in love when you can't communicate except through grunting noises.
Hmmm. An interesting dilemma: I hadn't thought of it in that way, Prof.

The general consensus seems to be 'go for it', which is probably what I secretly wanted to hear. I'll see if it's the same this time tomorrow.

they're b/f and g/f but are also purely platonic? nicely contradicted. also try not to be such a ****** and don't even contemplate trying to poach a friends lass.
