i put 4 lbs on over the weekend and i have no idea why?
I had my teeth taken out on thursday so you can imagine i was not in the mood for eating much!
On Saturday i am seriously not lying i had:
One medium banana 100 calorie yoghurt (low fat) and a small plate of mashed potato 3 cups of tea (one tea spoon of sugar)
on sunday i had:
scrambled egg a small handful of chicken (my mouth was in pain at this point) and dinner which was some mashed potato, asparagus, and a small corn on the cob 1 cup of tea (one teaspoon of sugar)
plus during the weekend we have been house renovating and on saturady i spent about 2 hours non stop, shoveling sand from the front of the house and wheel-barrowing it to the back of the garden. On Sunday i was also not sitting on my arse
Noo, don't worry! 4lbs is nothing. Just before your period you put on anything between 1 and 6 lbs due to water retention (that's why you can feel bloated). I put on about 5 usually. It goes again so relax!

Cxx
well the thing is that i am already on a diet and trying to watch what i eat and then i end up putting 4lbs on! I just feel that it takes away all the hard work.
But it's not the weight that it's important to lose, it's the fat. Ok so weighing yourself gives a rough indication of how much fat you have lost but putting on water is important so you can function normally, it doesn't take away from you losing fat before that.
And I agree with Lauren, just weigh once a week (or even a fortnight). I tried weighing every day once and my weight changed sooo much day to day, but after a week the reading was exactly the same.
Also, because you ate so little due to your teeth being taken out, your body may briefly have stored a lot of what you ate as fat, believing you were beginning to 'starve', which would also lead to additional water retention. Things will balance out again soon enough. No worries!
my weight goes up and down all the time. it only feels like anything has been lost if it is something mega like a stonne. since leaving school I have lost almost a stone and a half.
yea i always put on weight when im on my period or just before.
ive lost a stone since 1st january this year. ive still got a little way to go though to get to my target but im getting back on it again. see what i can lose b4 xmas.
Christ. I'm a tall bloke, admittedly, so probably the opposite to you, but i fluctuate over 6lbs, depending on water levels and all that stuff. It's mental.
But yeah, i laughed at "handfull of chicken", haha.

lol you know what i mean It was little chicken pieces (a handful) seriously. I nearly cried when i saw i had put on 4 lbs it's so depressing.
It's water retention, most likely - assisted by the fact you have been starving yourself over the last couple of days making that sort of thing more probable. Once you're back to a normal diet it'll go away. Stop stressing.

i wasn't starving myself on purpose. In fact i was trying to eat, but my mouth has been in incredible pain, plus i have developed a sore throat I just can't eat anything. I'm nearly in tears because of this stupid pain and it just seems to be getting worse everyday, plus i'm getting my braces on wednesday so i can imagine being in more agony.

I know you weren't doing it on purpose, but regardless of that your body has reacted to the situation and hence the water retention (combined with the hormonal influence).
I have to say it doesn't seem normal to be in this much pain after tooth extraction - I certainly wasn't for more than a couple of days. Are they infected?
As for the braces, yes, they will be nasty. Get some soups/slimfast shake kind of things in stock so that you can still get some energy into you.

.
yeh, i have gum ache and it's really really painful. Nurophen does not seem to be helping at all. I took some bonjela instead and that seemed to be working but i think it caused me to get a sore throat. It's so annoying! 2 nights ago i woke up with really bad gum pain and i couldn't sleep and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The gums are healing though, but it's still quite sore.
I suggest you get a meter, and measure your sizes, so everyday even if your weight changes measure your size if it's the same then it's ok, plus when you dont go to the bathroom your weight surely will go up and if you measure it again after going to the pathroom you'll find it less
