Colds and exercise!

Hey!

On friday, i started to experience the dreaded symptoms of a cold, you know, runny nose, sore throat, cough etc.... anyway! Its now monday, and on wednesday i have a very important netball match that i need to be as fit as possible for! I normally exercise loads and eat really healthily but i havent exercised since friday and its psychologically making me feel unfit, and what with a cough, im finding it hard to even run up four flights of stairs! Should i start trying to exercise gently now, even though im not feeling quite 100% yet or just wait for wednesday to come?

you're fine to train and play with a cold, but flu you cant because it can damage your heart. Prob best to get some sort of medical adivce if you're really concerned

If running up the stairs makes you gasp then you might be more seriously affected with your cold than you realise. You could start by taking walks and see how you cope, but don't do anything that feels strenous. If you do too much now you will not be able to do anything on Wednesday.

You can't improve your fitness between now and wednesday so your number 1 priority is to get better before the game, in which case, plenty of rest, and definitely no exercise.
