We should aspire to look like this, gentlemen.
I actually aspire to have sex with this person.

Now I know it depends on the person (I mean, Jeremy Clarkson probably isn't the best example), but assuming forty-somethings don't prowl the forums, I'm asking for all teens out there: wearing shirts with denim - yay or nay?

I'm guessing we're talking about NOT tucking the shirt in.

NOT tucking the shirt in? At best you look like a scally out for a fight. At worst you look like a fat dad trying to dance with his teenage daughters friends. It looks utterly ridiculous.

However; with a reasonably smart pair of jeans and belt: tuck the shirt in, and it looks absolutely fine.

If your jeans are scruffy or baggy, then you shouldn't be wearing a shirt with them: put on a t-shirt or polo shirt instead.

If it has to be jeans, at least make it "formal" or some sort:

Let's go formal. Plain, not checkered or anything. Maybe a breast pocket as well

In other news, I got some jeans today with the sole vision of wearing a shirt with it, maybe some pointy leather shoes.

I'd never wear a formal shirt with jeans, I think it just looks wrong personally. It's like a 50 year old man trying to feel young

But, just a casual checked shirt with a printed t shirt underneath looks good, as long as it isn't garish...gay colours!

And, if you tuck your casual shirts in....I think that looks stupid, also people who tuck the front of their shirts in just to show a big shiny belt buckle!

Tuck it in man. Otherwise you'll look a mess.

A good shirt and decent jeans have to be set off with a nice pair of shoes and appropriate belt, but if/when you get it right then women seem to love it. If you get it wrong, wear trainers, no belt, shirt untucked or just a crap **** then you look like an abomination and like you dont understand style/fashion.

Shirts should ALWAYS be tucked in though.

Listen to this man.

OR: don't because then there's less competition for the rest of us.

I don't own a single t-shirt. I only ever wear polo shirts or "dress" shirts with the buttons hidden most of the time. But I tuck it inside my jeans. If the weather's nice the footwear of choice will be brown moccassins for the countryside and black ones for town. This look never gets old. Add some aviators if you like.

asking whether shirts go with jeans is like asking whether socks go with shoes.

What do you guys think to smart trousers (essentially orphaned suit pants) with a formal dress shirt tucked in and nice shoes. Which look is better?
