brown discharge after sex

about 3 weeks ago i had sex for the first time, we used protection and afterwards i bled im guessing from my hymen breaking. But about 1 week afterwards i bled really lightly for about 3 days then it stopped and now it keeps happening. I am really scared. it is either brown discharge or blood that appears and i dont understand why. It isnt painful or anything and it is only a really tiny bit each day. My period isnt due for another week. Does anyone know what is happening? please help

what are you bleeding after sex or have you only had sex the once and you've bled ever since?

It does not sound as if the two are connected. It might just be a little "in between bleeding". Are you on the pill? If so, sometimes the hormones are not quite strong enough to stop bleeding alltogether and you "spot" occaisionally.
Best go to a Gynaecologist (I guess you have to go through your GP in the UK) and get peace of mind. I don't think it sounds like something serious.

i had that for a bit, but mine was from the pill.
but while wondering what the hell it was i found something that said, blood can sometimes dry up a bit before it comes out (sorry for crudeness) and looks brown.

sometimes people need a gentle push in the right direction esp when your stressed and worried. So ignore the last comment written by another member.

Go to the doctors maybe you've possibly picked up an infection or something or scratched yourself up there. Hospital is a bit dramatic though IMO

Well only blood from a fresh bleeding looks like "blood", anything else looks sort of "rusty". (Except a bleeding in your stomach or bowls, that looks different again)

As people say just nip down to the doctor and ask. Yes it can be very embarassing if you have not been to the doctors for anything like this before.

They will most likely take a swab to check for infection, but it is better to go through some embarrasment and be safe rather than be sorry if it is something to worry about.

Whilst you are there I would also speak to the doctor about the different methods of contraception avaliable.
