for my AS composition... my teacher used mine as an example of a "good" musical theatre piece.. but I got an E for it....remarked once, only went up by 1 mark... so i am still appealing!! hope i can fight my deserved grade back ... as i got A for both the other 2 papers.... *sob* (this is sort of why i started this rather dumb looking thread because i feel miserable about this whole inconsistent marking thing.....)

To be totally honest with you, AS composition is not really subjectively marked. They just want some nice simple pastiche, make sure you're not structuring things nicely, have good ideas on texture, treat melodies relatively traditionally etc etc.

The stuff about maths A levels is true - there are only certain kinds of questions they ask us. Which is exactly why STEP exists - and thats a whole different matter ...
