A progress file is like a school report you get at every school. Ask your Form Tutor or UCAS coordinator about it because some schools do not like sending out loads of school reports (mainly because its a pain).

Thnx .. another question .. what is the 'entry point' when your putting in you uni choices?
It's equivalent to a record of achievement.

I have a record of achievement so I ticked 'yes' for progress file.

But if we're being honest here, no unis give a toss about it

They probably don't but my teacher told me to tick yes today, so I thought that I'd share that information with everyone else:smile:

Wouldn't you take you progress file/RoA with you to an interview?

I have one, would they want to see it ? its basicaly cirtificates and awards and stuff.. nothing relevant the the course i want to do
Oh - I just assumed I didn't have one of these, but we have files of prizes &regular reports from individual subject teachers, marks from 1-4 on attendance, effort, etc coupled with a comment - is that a progress file then? My college didn't tell me to tick it though. & I don't really want to, because annoyingly I have straight 1s and lovely comments from 3 teachers but my French teacher was ... uncomplimentary, criticised my attendance, my effort at one point, etc

But is what I just described what they classify as a progress file? DAmn...
Does it say progress file on the front cover?

I've never seen the file, but I doubt it. It's just a collection of teachers' references, predicted grades and comments throughout the year along with copies of any certificates you may have won

I'm not sure, my college has one of those for me aswell.

I'm not sure about this aswell:biggrin: but I reckon that a uni would ask you if they want to see it.

Only if you want to strengthen your arm muscles carrying round a big heavy folder for no reason

I'll get my apprentice to carry it:biggrin:

So why is there a question on it on the application? It got me really paranoid last year, because everyone else seemed to have a progress file or RoA and I didn't and I thought it'd be really important.
