Is there any drug that is a bright yellow powder?

I am hoping that someone will know if there is a new or other recreational substance that is a bright yellow powder?

My son dropped out of uni last year after getting heavily into every recreational substance going ...he then came home over the summer to live at his mum and says that he has changed and learnt many lessons. On the face of it, he now looks healthier and is trying to turn his life around by working for a charity before re-starting uni again in October.

However a couple of weeks ago when we saw him first thing on a Sunday morning, his hands were covered by a bright yellow powder, he also had that on his cheek ...I can't help be niggled to wonder what that was?

I know that I could ask in a drug forum but I know that he still visits the most prominent ones so I do not want him to see this question there...
if I thought that he would give us a straight answer, I would ask him. Sadly, part of addictive behaviour is to cover up and deny it to yourself as well as to those around you.

Thank you for your help.

Yeah cake, it can cause people to cry all the water out of their body.

Only one that I can think of that fits the description would be meth - whitish or yellow powder.

Reply 5

Impure meth can be yellow, IIRC.

Cake

Or cocaine with a drop of yellow food colouring

Crystal meth can be yellow, meth is real nasty stuff as well.

meth??

in my country people take turmeric powder (which is yellow) for energy, but it is unlikely in UK...(not as a drug though...its just a spice)

IT could be curry or rave paint, how do you know it's a powder and from my limited knowledge i know of no yellow powder drugs.

You never heard of cake? there was a BIG campaign about it a while ago. One girl actually threw up her own pelvis bone after taking too much of it.

There are a million things it can be....Just confront him.

I agree with this. You aren't going to get entirely reliable responses from us, it's best to talk to the pros, who'd give you more certainty as well.

Sounds trippy. Will phone dealer and ask about it.

Thank you for your replies. I have just tried Frank helpline...the person on the phone did not know of a yellow powder but said that some so called legal highs might look like this...that was what I figured too which is why I thought I would ask the student forum in case people here know of anything that they or their friends take that is like this.

There are various legal high forums too but I dare not post there as I know that my son vists/used to visit those.

As for asking him...that is no good...as he just lies (which is a normal part of additive behaviour I am afraid).

He still denies ever taking cocaine for example even though there is ample proof that he has done so (via what we found on him and via his Facebook chats to his friends, including photos...they used the nickmane Cheese and Mellow Yellow). The list of substances that he has documented in his diary runs to over 20 (he was so hung over the weekend that he left for uni, I don't think he realises what incriminating evidence he left behind that we only found afterwards...he is not allowed back home now till we are sure that he is clean).

"Cake" is a spoof for those who did not realise it.

Ignore this OP, Frank are not pro's, they have a very limited, and completely biased knowledge of drugs.

It could be meth, but you cannot accurately identify a drug just from it's colour. Meth is a nasty drug though.

Do you know what drugs your son has taken previously, and how often he takes them?

You say he took 'everything going', but is this actually correct? Heroin? Crack? Methadone?

By the sounds of it he is abusing drugs, but remember there is a big difference between using drugs and abusing drugs. I'm sure my mum thinks i 'abuse' drugs, when the only substance i have ever really abused, is cannabis, she just has very limited/biased knowledge on drugs.
