You're the only 2nd year besides Researcher Lond and Hampshire so I think you'll have some trouble with the replies.

But if not i'm in everyday except Wednesdays when lectures start, including 9 hours on Monday so you should see me

ollie, no worries..I went to the Act.Sci induction today. The speaker said "u people, dun choose AC100, choose MA103, becoz I think it is better." and he emphasised nth times that he wants his to choose MA103.... lol, well, he didn't change MY mind nor quite a few others, but i'm sure his words will have some effects on the amount of 1st year Act.Sci studnet puting MA103 as their choice :P :P :P

lol yer mine wasnt good either, Mr (Prof./Dr./Whatever) Dassios waffled on for a bit about Actuarial Science and then went on for ages about why we should pick MA103 rather than AC100 - glad I didnt, because AC100 was one of my best modules  . Then they gave us this sheet of maths questions which said to hand in a couple of days later, and i thought b*llocks to this, i'll do it later - so i just asked if we could leave and he said "i guess so".... and i was off lol. What is your impression of the LSE so far then dpali?

well...the bit about people being rude and unsociable is quite untrue for me so far. Everyone out here is really nice. But I've only been here for 4 days...so who knows!

I love LSE's location...It's so close to everything that matters.

I've met people from all over! Someone told me international students consisted of 73% of the total.

I'm a bit annoyed with Natwest though...I've been trying to open an account for the past 4 days and finally managed to do it today. (Partly my fault because I didn't have some of the documents)

I don't know how the other halls are but I really like it at Rosebery. The only bad thing is that there are limited options for vegetarians.

The fresher's parties have been quite crap so far. I went to the foam party and the music was terrible for most of the night. The yacht one wasn't anything great either (except the view from the deck, which was fantastic)

So I'm liking it out here....

So overall its a thumbs up yer? I've heard through the grapevine (and my sources) that Rosebery this year has a large number of super hot females so I can seriously see myself visiting quite a lot. Is this the situation? (Naturally you are one of these sexy gals lol  ).

Plus the guy on reception (arnold) wants to say hey as i was one of his more 'interesting' guests in Rosebery last year lol. I had to personally apologise to the warden for swearing at one of his staff during a fire alarm when i wanted to go out and she was telling me to go back to room, so i said: "f*ck off, im going out alright?" lol - which lead to an 'apologize or you're getting kicked out' situation.

The music at all the uni nights is sh*te really, you really need to head out to the public clubs - thats why I can't be bothered to go to Crush on Friday night, but i'm going to go to the CC Club on Monday.

Ahh yea...I think I'll check out the CC club as well. I'm going to Crush tomorrow...I hate the queues...It's so annoying...I don't see how tickets are sold out when no one's got any!

Oh...It's a f*cking pain to remember everyone's names. I spent my first 2 days saying "Sorry, what's your name again?" and I still forget them!

Ollie is not impressed :frown:

I realise its an interesting start to a post but it sums it up so well. I made a trip to LSE today (wearing Real Madrid shirt, white jacket n jeans incase you spotted me) and I was bitterly disappointed. The vibe on Houghton Street was a pile of w*nk, i'm really hoping you freshers were busy at halls because we need entertainment around LSE lol . Lets face it, once the Orientals have shuffled in the groups of approx. 30 from the Old Building to the Library that just leaves the rest of us, and no one seemed happy :frown:

Whats going on!?! (I think most of you are at Crush anyways, so i'm not expecting any replies soon lol)

A Real Madrid shirt? Ok, now we are talking.

About the rest of the message, are you kind of sad?? Why?

Lol, yep a Real Madrid shirt.

Its not really sadness, its more disappointment in the lack of happy people. They drum it into your heads at school that uni is supposed to be one of the most fun times in your life, but most of the people there today looked like zombies wandering around taking leaflets etc. Surely you must have noticed this Londo?

No, I have four years of experience in freshers weeks at the LSE so did not leave my place during the whole day.

They look like zombies because that is the way you are when twenty people try to give you a leaflet about their nice and useless society, and if you take one thirty more come. I took one last year and I almost could not reach the entry of the building.

So Real Madrid? I suppose that with Beckham on your back ...

Ah very good thinking, i'll remember that one next year. However, after walking up and down Oxford Street you learn how to just walk through these people, but still some geniuses were like "oooh whats this leaflet, i havent got one of those"

Afraid not, for a few reasons really. The main ones being, 1. Beckham is just a player, its the club which is the main thing, 2. if you get a name printed on the back, not only does it cost £10 more, it leaves you unable to really wear it unless you're having a kickabout with your mates, and 3. Beckham sucked willy ever since he left England to join the 'clip-my-ankles-and-i'll-go-down-like-i-stood-on-a-landmine' brigade in Madrid.

Does anyone know why that Dassios guy emphasises the maths module?? he didnt seem to have a solid reason for it. Im still doing AC100, although some of my friends changed their module.
