Good takeaways in Lincoln

Chinese:

Lucky (114 Burton Road, LN1 3LW) is the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had, only thing I didn't like was the duck.

Foodfirst

decent Chinese is Foodfirst, small place just off the high street, quite near the river. Cracking prawn toast.

Pizza:

Haven't tried any small places, so the only thing I can recommend is
Domino's (Three locations, but the one on the High Street doesn't deliver to university halls afaik)

Kebab:

Everything I can say about that is STAY AWAY from Topkapi on the High Street. If anyone has good kebab places, please do say.

I don't have takeaways all the time so I haven't been to that many places, help in making a comprehensive list would be appreciated!

I say don't eat takeaways, as as soon as you have one, you will want more and bye bye money and health. It will become too convenient and you wont be arsed to cook ever.

That's partly true (I still cook most of the time but many people won't) but IF people depend on takeaways I want to make it my mission to direct them to the best places for it, so they won't be disappointed. :mmm:

We used Topkapi last year to deliver to Riseholme, it was always yummy!

Topkapi gave me 50% off because I was new! Can't complain

Used to use the place next to topkapi but that's changed hands/name so many times I'm not really a fan of it anymore, also I tend not to use them as they no longer do BOGOF pizzas. I usually keep a stash of takeaway style food in my fridge/freezer for when I get back and have the munchies.

From our experience, don't go for Romeo's Pizza. It took them an hour to get to us (we're in courts, and they said around 40 mins), they couldn't work out how much to charge us, and even then the food was awful!

Were they trying to split the bill? I hate it when people like that can't even do simple maths, for real. And to be a good uni takeaway, they need to know their way around courts/pavs/junxion etc well

It doesn't look that way. I added up everything of what we had ordered and it came to around £26. Firstly, on the phone they said it would be around £24. Then, they phoned back a few minutes later and said it would be £27. Then when they actually delivered it, they added an extra 30p on!!

Topkapi was always awesome for me when i was there, cheap and open til something like 4 in the morning. Generally fairly quick to deliver as well.

That said, i did hear a story about them putting a brick through someones window after they refused to pay for a pizza.

I second the food 1st thing. Used to go here on the way back from the clubs, so much better than a burger or something and a great breakfast hahah. Shame it costs more and I want everything!

We stay well away from topkapi, loved romeos in the first year but this year it has be sically pizza, they're quite a bit cheaper and do a bit of everything. If you want indian, order from just-eat.com then you can pay on card!!
There's a fairly new chinese thats just opened on carholme road that's not too bad, and they will do it without MSGs, foodfirst don't always.
As for chippy, best one in lincoln is todays catch at the top of carholme road.
Nibbles is never such a good idea either.
While out in town and hungry on the way home, Capris is a much better option than 'pigeon' cottage. Did find an amazing kebab house while drunk in the first year, somewhere behind ritzys, never found it again. =(

Absolutely, used to live right opposite that place, never had bad fish and chips from it. There's a chippy further down carholme road on the left as you're leaving town as well, AVOID it. Possibly the worst fish and chips i've ever had.

i loved Topkapi until I tried it while sober haha it was soo greasy! The one across the road from it is pretty lush
I don't like Nibbles which is on Carholme rd across from hayes wharf, i paid almost a fiver and got the smallest kebab. Plus, ive been there twice at about 11pm, the first time they told me the only thing they had were chips, salad and pizza, the second time they told us the hurry up because they were closing....at 11!!!
