Why can you skate on ice, but not on glass?

I assume that's because the pressure melts the ice creating water which lubricates the blades allowing you to skate, and the ice then melts behind you again. Whereas this doesnt happen with glass.
Btw does this mean that the colder the ice is the worse it is for skating on?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could give me some examples of the sort of questions that I would be asked at interview. Any help appreciated

Thanx very much

Get your interview date first....Thats the most important thing as at now. You can ignore me though.

Thats a sample interview paper from Trinity. If you want any help or to check your answers just post back, and us mathmos or natscis will be happy to help
For question 1, I get an expression in terms of r the radius of the golf swing. Smax = 16π²r²/g m
Is this on the right lines? Using projectiles, calculating period of motion, finding the linear speed of the golf ball, etc.
