I havent ever done IB Geo, although i do history. It's okay, i mean all you have to do is write essays, but you need memorize alot too. But its okay!

I don't know much about IB Geography, but I would take history, it's more fun.

IB Geography HL is my easiest subject. I am on a 7, with little to no homework or study - and only by paying attention in class. It is a VERY easy subject. The whole Geo cohort is taking HL. Our teacher has also been a geo marker for the northern hemisphere, and thus the grades he gives us are very accurate. I am sorry if I sounded arrogant - but do it, it is worth it.

I'm not sure about easiness because I don't do geography but I can tell you History is one of my favourite subjects, it sort of gets everything from igcse and brings it together (obviously in more detail) so that you don't have all the topics isolated but instead make connection between all of them. If you enjoy writting you're probably going to like History.

i think you'll find more "fulfilment' and satisfaction in doing HL history, but if you dont want to handle a heavy workload, HL Geo is the way to go!!

I'd vote for history

history rocks-especially HL. but only take it if you are truly interested, as there is alot of reading material you need to cover...

IB Geo HL is a great subject. Not very hard and pretty damn interesting too.

I like Geog and Hist but it depends where your interests lie and what you're better at. Personally, I think you gain more skills with history and its more rewarding for life because you know more about the world and how it developed than most people.

It's all about the dinner discussions. Do you want to be up with current affairs, and also be able to bring in world economics, and trade into convincing arguments (Geo) (You would also have moderate to excellent mapping skills). Or do you want to be to discuss the motivations of Stalin and Hitler - and what you thought to be their ultimate downfall.
Anyway. I'm biased.

In my school everyone has to take HL History - no choice. Most people have pretty good grades, but it's a lot of work . . . always tons of reading, quizzes, seminars, writing . . .
History's not too bad & it's probably pretty useful, but if Geography were offered I might take that instead. I didn't even know IB had a Geography exam til I started reading this site.
