funnily i'm worrying about the same thing atm and i'm 20, just had a filling and it's still giving me greif - i think if i go back i have to have the nerve removed... I don't know the answer to your question but i'd say ask the dentist and see what he thinks/suggests then you can at least make an informed decision. He can't make you have it out, so no harm in asking.

If it does not feel right it may be that there is an inflammation going on down there in your jaw bone. Roots cannot really be filled up properly 8which every dentist will deny), because there are so many extremely fine channels, that often little parts are not filled. Sometimes the filling "overflows" and can cause irritation in the bone. It should not be giving you trouble, that is a sign something is not right. Have an x-ray done, sometimes one can see if an inflammation or other not so nice things are going on.

I had one when I was 20, and I was 23 today, so yes, it was a while ago. However, it still does not feel quite right. Can the pain come back? It does not give me intense pain, it just feels a bit werid. I don't want to lose the tooth, as suggested at the time. We are young, we got teeth- as the song says

I had a root canal filling last year and the tooth has felt weird ever since, I dont really get any pain but I often get a tingling sensation in the tooth, and sometimes if I get up too quickly after sitting/lying down, I experience a throbbing feeling inside the tooth, sounds weird I know.

I was told by my dentist when I had it done that there was no guarantee that having the treatment would work, and there was a chance I would have to go back for repeat treatment/tooth removal, so I guess it is possible that pain and symptoms could return.

If you are worried then you should just go back to the dentist and explain, Im sure they wouldnt mind.
